Samsung Mobile neither designs nor sells Apple anything. The Samsung conglomerate also sells refrigerators, completely independently of Samsung Semi or Samsung Mobile.

Despite what Apple stated the development of its own GPU Imo could have been a strong arm bargaining ploy.
Imagination have stated that it holds the patents, so unless Apple pays it (Imagination) a licence fee to use it patented technology it can't install an Apple copy of this product, nor can Apple use another supplier to produce it for it
Copyright Protection would kick in and Apple plus any supplier that did this would pay a heavy fine in punitive damages.
Apple appears to want to cut the unit cost of Imagination i.e make more profit for itself
Back to the article, there was predictions that Qualcomm would use Samsung also for the 7nm SoC
The articles I have read is that Samsung is developing its own 7nm Soc however this will be 5G rather than 7nm and faster 4G speed
Samsung 10nm process can be further developed for 4G, but as far as my knowledge on this topic allows, the 7nm TMSC is not proper / true 5G I may be wrong...

Both AMD and Apple (and even Samsung) just license the ISA from intel/ARM respectevily. The chips are nothing alike from ARM stock ones.
But you can actually say that Snapdragon and Kirin are in fact just ARM cores.

If you ever used Apple device you know you can just go down to the Apple Store and have them replace the entire device at no cost within warranty. If you somehow killed the battery within a year, battery replacement is $29 in an Apple Store.
