So tired seeing people cant stop whining about the notch. It's been almost a year since notch came out, don't you have other thing to do beside complaining about notch??
It's up to manufacturer to decide the design, and I can see the fact that notch is popular because it's the best way to achieve high StB ratio right now. Go with bezel and people will still complain.

Before the iPhone X came out, there was no notch on any phone except the Essential phone. After the iPhone X came out, almost every smartphone look like a iPhone X clone.
