XZ2 is just 12mm thick at its thickest part, due to its curved design. The thinnest part of it is just 6mm, which is what you're going to hold more.
They removed the 3.5mm jack, which is definitely stupid, but their workaround is undeniably miles better than any other OEMs. Some regions will receive the Y-style adapter that allows for both USB C charging/data transfer and 3.5mm audio jack simultaneously, which is basically the same way as to having a 3.5mm jack into the phone.
Besides, their justification for removing it is reasonable. They have been selling more wireless headsets than wired ones, but I'm sure that the negative feedback about this will change Sony's minds next year to bring it back.
And I have to say a BIG HELL NO for poor cameras. You seriously are so wrong in that aspect!
Sorry but I'm just triggered, since you pulled out a false claim. I tried the XZ2 already and its camera is better than the S9+, which I also tried for fairness. Or you can refer to the GSMArena Comparison Tool chart for an actual proof.
Against the P20 Pro, I'd say it's about even, maybe a slight advantage to P20 Pro, but the XZ2's camera is FAR from being bad, like you are trying to imply.
Build quality of the XZ2 is top notch, and one of the main reasons is the move of fingerprint scanner from the side to the back. The weakest point of previous Xperia phones is always the sides where the fingerprint scanner is located. JerryRigEverything, the master of smartphone durability test, proves this claim in his Xperia XZ2 durability test on YouTube.
A lot of things are outstanding on the XZ2
-first 4K HDR video recording
-first 1080p @960fps super slow motion video recording
-Dynamic Vibration System
-ejector pin-less SIM/SD Card slot tray (very useful if you ever happen to need to remove your SIM/SD Card in a hurry)
-3D Creator
And for the Premium model
-4K HDR display
-ISO 51200 for Photos, ISO 12800 for Videos
-native monochrome sensor
If these things aren't enough for the phone to stand out, Idk what else will. And I don't think dual aperture or triple camera alone is enough to be a remarkable feature.

2. They are doing it already. If they didn't, their Xperias wouldn't have wireless charging, curved glass, tall aspect ratio bezel less design, and many more trends even today.
3. Fast and stable software experience or bugged down skin of Android?? For features, I can just search in the Play Store for all the things I want in my phone, but at the same time, I also have the option to opt for a simple and seamless experience with very quick and stable updates provided by the OEM.
4. As if doing it will change a lot of things. XZ2 was released just a month after the official announcement, but sales are still not as good as we are expecting. We have Apple, who also does the same thing but is getting lots of great feedback. Popularity always comes first, the products themselves come after.

I just think Sony's 2018 products have really bad (chunky) design and average quality, that does not justify their high price. I think this explains Sony's low sales figures much better than "Americans are to blame".
And insulting someone just for having different opinions than yours just doesn't show a lot of intelligence or common sense.

Huaweis twilight colour is deffo still the best colour released on any smartphone this year....

Real cha... moreYeah boi go buy china crap and exchange it in short time period, sony devices always a trust choice, I have Z3 and its still working good, you must be a good user so the phone will be good to you, plus reflasing software which includes battery calibration does the job in other hugely increased aspect, oh wait, your china crap mostly ends up in a brick if you try to do something like that. SONY is hardware king, every bit of phone part is finished and polished just like Japan culture.. Xiaomi puts dongle and removes headphone jack but ohh my eyes and ears is bleeding from that sound.. Wait is that even a sound? More like mexico nature rolling some sunburn trees in windy area wait wait I cant understand that people.. You pay for overal quality not for chipset and marketing pyrposed blah blah

I adore them. If only the display was OLED (which some sources claim to be) and the FPS was embedded into it rather than being on the back... I wish I could buy a black one for me :(

Design looks good to me now (apart from that fps placement). Previous XZ2 design are unacceptable for me (experience it myself).
Will looks further whats the upgrade and that beast camera samples.

If SONY want to keep selling phones then, they have to do these:
- Cancel the stupid 6 months policy.
- Be smart and look around to compare their phones with the others. so, when they announce for any new phone they must be sure that it will be a competitive with others.
- Add more special software features.
- Finally they must release the announced phones after very short period after announcement like Apple or Samsung.
