Every brand/company falls from grace unless they keep re-inventing themselves, and this is precisely what both Nokia and Microsoft are currently in the process of doing. Android on the other hand is becoming stale and irrelevant very quickly.

if microsoft gives little freedom to the user to customize the UI like applying different colours to each tile , ability to set background colour that user likes(most of the times it is black ) , ability to keep some themes or wallpapers to the background , ability to change the fonts of the text and change the colour of the text it would be great. it would make u i look more beautiful and customizable.

WindowsPhone can't kill android or iphone. It just going to compete well.

Main drawback of win 7.5 is lack of customization and unable to set wallpaper... who wants to see that dirty tiles throught the year! beautiful wallpaper and some small notifications like weather updates, FB updates, email updates, analog clock will do great, android and symbain belle rocks in that aspect.
microsoft want ppl to accept there thinking but google finds out how ppl think and develope product.... thats the reason for android's success!!!

                    All these haters / fanboys...
                    GET A GRIP!
Actually, if you try Winmo 7 it's actually quite good...
Sure, it's a bit limited, but no more than say iOS, and I reckon it's much better looking (the updated tiles thing is cool) - I have launcher 7 for android, and it does a fairly good job of replicating it (without all the whizz-bang animations alas)
But give it a whirl - it's quite good, not enough customisation for my liking, but, the more choice we have the better...
I wonder what the next big OS will be?!?!
                    Remember...
                    Choice is good...
                    It benefits us all!

Microsoft is a much bigger company than Google, mate. They don't need Google's funding. And, as the owner of those patents, Microsoft has every right to license them at a cost.

The only OS that can beat android, Windows phone and ios is MeeGo... but unfortunately Nokia killed MeeGo before knowing its potential...

Nokia Fans dont want Mango... Dont you get it Nokia your fans want Nokia with MeeGo....

You Killed Symbian, and now MeeGo for WIndows Phone !!!!

by the way i have been using android for the past 2 months now... and never getting a Nokia again except with MeeGo (which i guess will never happen anymore)

Microsoft has now entered into 1,133 outbound license deals with various companies around the world. Microsoft detailed the numbers surrounding its Android patent licensing deals. It revealed that 53% of Android OEM’s and 58% of Android ODM’s are now under Microsoft’s patent protection.

[deleted post]Just because YOU'VE never customized your desktop, nobody else needs customization, right? And, regarding Android "crashing" and "freezing," it's never, thus far, happened to me.

Otherwise, I'd agree with you on much of the other points. WP7 is really, really smooth, and I love the WP7 UI. And I do hope the WP7-Nokia marriage takes off, because a good WP7 device is what I'd like to buy next.

That is a dual core HTC Sensation stacked up against an Omnia 7. The Sensation has almost 250% the power and 256MB more RAM than the Omnia 7, and yet the Omnia 7 just blows it away in terms of performance. It really speaks for itself.

                                        I "rest my case".
