But what is a prison like os? As in restricted, I get it, but in what ways?

Actually the iPhone X sold in way lower numbers than Apple anticipated. So all the leftover stock, in huge inventory leftover will be regurgitated as a new phone, albeit a lower price. Therefore expect no improvements or changes to the deceptively labelled new phones. It's the iPhone X with no real changes whatsoever. Also, according to rumours, Apple is attempting to explore hardware and parts outside of Foxxconn, so expect lower quality control, as well.
Avoid buying it, and wait for options from Apple, Huawei and Samsung which will have Triple Camera Setups and way better Camera features, along with the exciting new Foldable Screen Concepts.

It's so tacky and unappealing.
Need I say anything about the prison-like restricted os?
I'd only buy an iPhone if it gives me the possibility to reflash it with android or Linux. iOS is for people with ZERO technical skills, kids or hipster grannies.

pepe, 30 Aug 2018I have an iPhone 6, should I upgrade?I also have a 6 and most definitely will upgrade, it's about time after 4 years. I won't be too keen on the price for sure, but it will be once again the only relatively compact high-end phone on the market, so that's it.

The notch is here to stay since Apple just started the trend last year. But I guess it will be smaller in size for this year models, unlike the Fugly Google Pixel 3 which has a freaking huge bucket at the top.

Believe... This year apple phone will stay the same as previous year. The different is in the specs, size and the price. The design will be remain the same.
