Xperia XZ3 gets its pricing in Europe, pre-orders are open and it ships on October 5

It's not a terrible phone. Though, I think even 800 euros is a bit too high for what you're getting. The retailers in the EU who decided not to add any of the bundles to the Note 9 launch sold that phone for 800 euros. 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM. Bigger battery, bigger screen, bigger pen, bigger everything.
700 euros would probably give them decent sales. 4/64 GB isn't flagship any more and come October the Snapdragon 845 will be close to be last year's generation, too.
I'm in the market for a new phone as my provider was a bit 'ey nal about not letting me get the Note 9 while the preorders were still running, one day before my upgrade window started... So, this XZ3 at a good price would definitely be interesting. But at that price I can get an S9, which is a better phone.

[deleted post]Oh Come on!!! Don't be that kind of fan. Sony is definitely a good manufacturer that deserves more recognition that it gets, but 'crapmoled' is really over-the-top. Samsung's display is unbelievably good, none should question that. Personally, my first smartphone was a Sony Ericsson and back then their camera was far better than anything others produced. Since then, Samsung has got the edge. Though the difference is not significant, you can tell when you view the images on large TV.
I like Sony. Their near-stock android has allowed to me to use the phone for almost five years, my brother's Sony is running for almost 4 years now, but my wife's Samsung has gotten slow in two years. Nevertheless, S9+ is equivalent if not better than XZ3 in my humble opinion.

Sony phones were never subject of articles about benchmark cheat nor user sata being sent to government

9.9 mm thick! Xz was king of bezels and now is king of thickness. Time to go on a diet sony. Surely they can design better looking phone (XA1,2). If at least battery was big. Also what's the deal with 4gb ram and 64 internal? For that price 6/128 is a must these days.

Whilst all my phones were flagships. I could (and still can) feel the difference between between a Mediatek based phone and a snapdragon based phone. Given that in a benchmark they give the same score, I'd feel the strengthes and weaknesses of any phone. Given the right amount of time and usage. So,Yeah. It's like Tasters. Some are Non-tasters which basically means you can literally let them eat a cardboard and they will think it tastes like Ferrero Rocher, and there are those people that are supertasters and able to nitpick the gentle difference between "Marie belle" and "Sugarfina" candies. That to the avarage joe are about the same. Tasty! But not very different.
Back to our subject with reference to what I said.
I agree and I don't have any way to deny that some people wouldn't feel the differences between different phones like you describe. But there are those people that are like me, that can feel that tiny 0.000002s hiccup in the CPU compared to another phone and that would ruin the day for them
(Note: Well, MAYBE I have a bit exaggarated. But You get the idea)

What? They want 799 Euro? Sony has to pay me to use this heavy, bulky junk without 3.5 mm jack and very inconvenient fingerprint scanner. Not to mention that thanks to Sony management, Sony Style has died as well...

How much is Galaxy S9+ in Europe? I remember it being in the range of 830 Euros when it was first introduced (I don't have the greatest memory though).
Depends on the price of S9+ to judge whether XZ3 is good or not. But I have doubt whether POLED can beat sAMOLED right now. Camera is probably not comparative either. No 3.5mm sucks too.

I just cant understand while I have had Sony phones and samsung phones and mostly nokia phones. And I have had even no name China phones. They all have lasted me same and by holding in hand I don't feel any difference with them. It's either made out of plastic or metal makes no difference for me. More important is the hardware and how optimized the phone is. Do it lag or anything.
Even the lowest end phones I have had, have no issues about the feel of quality in hand. Even on plastic or polycarbonate makes no difference. It's just to sell devices on people who get exited about the high price so they think it's something special cause it has high price.
There is no difference in old brand phones and new China phones. They all are able to do everything for your that you need out of them and they all last about same.
It's just that you have payed more so you need to protect your self with these comments that it has more quality then some Chinese phones cause you have read some articles or watched some videos but never owned one and have no experience of them.
I don't partially comment on you but this seems what most think around here when it comes to brands with high price tags.

It's not like you go in the shop and get the headphones for free. You need to buy the phone that have the headphones in the price. That free part is to manipulate people to buy the phone and no thinking ability people will go for it and brag that they get free headphones while they didnt.

For bang for the bug there Are no better phones like Xiaomi and Oneplus, but if you Are looking for quality phones like Samsung, Apple, Nokia, Sony you have to pay more for the less. It is a choise that customer have to take.
There is not a wrong or rigth ansver in there. It depends on your preferences. If you want to have best upgrades and ecosystem where everything is Connected and work together. Go for Apple and pay a lot. If you want good upgrades in Android, Sony and Nokia Are way to go. If you want to have big brand and new innowations, maybe the asamsung is your choise. If you want to get best bang for the buck. Those more economy friendly brands Are the best choise. So it all depends.
I don`t like brand bashing. The different brands have different strong points and different weak points. There Are different compromises among them. As a customer I want to know what Are the good parts and what Are the weak parts of each phone and make my desision so that the phone suits my personal preferences. And I am fully aware that my choise will differ from another persons choise and I respect that other choise Also! There is not wrong or right in here. Only different choises!

Could've been cheaper, but at least they didn't go overboard with the pricing.
That means the premium should be 900-1000?
Hope the XZ4 comes with more competitive pricing.

Also, it's not an Amazon exclusive. Amazon isn't even a (supported) thing in a big part of Europe. In the BeNeLux there are multiple retailers where you can pre-order it.

That pricing is not eye-watering. That''s an average price for a mainstream flagship at launch. And you get an SD card as a gift. Only shame is the 4 GB of ram.

If you like One+ over Sony, please go and buy one. But, PLEASE, don't try to convince me what should i buy. I have MY head, MY brain, MY opinion, MY money, and i will buy what I want and what I like. Why do you have the need to to impose your opinion on others? Sometimes i think that people like you are trying to convince not us, but yourself, that you made the right choice.
