The stereo speakers didn't happen!
Can't say I'm not surprised though. LG previously said they preferred using a single speaker that does not distort the sound.

Notch? You are losers. When you can make a live album at studio quality and a movie at broadcast quality, every person who creates content, asks themselves? If people only look at notches and not hardware,don't you ask yourself if 12-year-old children are doing comments?
If you create content, this phone does it.
A 12-year-old's momentary idea of what is cool is not worth my notice.

It looks like a cheap Chinese phone, that has a notch in order to resemble iphoneX and look expensive, yet a chin, because they are too cheap to afford a flexible connection to the digitizer, like Apple does in order to minimize the lower bezel.
So it better be proved there...

I think it seems to be a good phone.
If the audio quality, loudspeaker, camera quality tests and modes turn out good, I will get it! :)
Don't care much about the notch. Quality and perfection should be pursued, like Samsung does.

I have not read good comparisons. I have read misleading reviews (since I know 1st hand). Therefore I am really asking... I don't think I have really good ears but I can taste audio better. Also LG V40 seems to have the best balance for me... I don't like people saying Samsung it is like Apple fan boy..

Sounds good! Obviously, will have to wait for the Samsung galaxy s10 to decide which one I am going to get. But I will definitely get one of the two.

Well, we'll have to wait a bit more and eventually see (as usual). But having said that, it has the stereo speakers and the Quad DAC are definitely a good news and welcome! But on the other hand: the battery definitely seems not enough for its display, etc., and to compete with the Note9, etc. Then as RAM hopefully it will have an 8GB version optional, and 128GB as for the standard version, again, to compete better with the Note 9 and the others. And finally, its WORST thing of all, is definitely the HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE NOTCH!!!! not just because it is horrible in its self (even if it can be hidden, because it will have a thick bezel anyway), plus that it will be another copycat of the iPhone X and all its other clones. Let's hope not!!!

Love wide angle angle cameras on a phone, way more useful and practical than telephoto options but LG has gone all out and added both wide and telephoto cameras. Kudos to LG for that, but why use low end sensors on a premium flagship? Even the main sensor used from the specs seems to be the Sony IMX363, used on mid range phones like Pocophone F1. If this was a 5-600 dollar phone, there choices would be justifiable, but on a phone that would probably cost a thousand bucks, this is disappointing.

Aslipundit, 04 Sep 2018You will know the difference if you use a high quality head... morei use former flagship sony xba-40 4 balanced armature earphones and sony xba-30 3 balanced armature earphones and akg k551, do you regard them as quality, their list price is several times US$50, fact, the higher quality earphones, the worst it sounds with a phone as the finese of headphones/earphone draw out the deficiency of the limited sound quality of the phone, just like it's pointless to use high quality lens for a dslr/mirrorless interchangable camera on a phone due to the small sized camera sensor, same applies with audio capacity of phone, unlike onkyo dp-cmx1 which has isolated power supply, separate shielded dac ( real one, not a compromised one in the LG phones), 2.5mm balanced and 3.5mm unbalanced, aptx hd (lg and sony has this though) wireless.
btw, i don't even use my phone to listen music, i use my dedicated audiophile walkman, nw-zx100

Kudos to LG for retaining the 3.5 mm jack! Samsung and LG, the only two brands worth buying now.
