LG Superfan, 04 Sep 2018Most games will soon adopt 18:9 ratio There is minor diffe... more-i could agree with games soon adapting 18:9 aspect ratio because nobody is making 16:9 phones anymore.
-i'm not sure if it has to do with visual acuity, but i can very much tell the big difference between fhd and quad-hd and thus i avoid phones with anything less than quad-hd. hey, an lg intruduced me to quad-hd.
-i would say oversaturation of colors on amoled (or any other oled) is a matter of preference- i have long been with samsung and have liked the "punchy" colors of their amoled screens; but then there are times when i get to compare color reproductions between leds and lcds and it occured to me that lcds at least have the closest to reality. i still am using a second phone with amoled screen, but for now i am all praises to lcds.

anyways, we're talking about smartphones here that are not available yet, and the razer phone 2 has not even seen production yet. there is a big chance the razer phone 2 could have 18:9 aspect ratio screen, but i doubt it will be amoled because amoled is not capable yet of 120hz refresh rate. all i am saying is that the screen on razer phone is better than the rog because of the resolution and refresh rate.

LG Superfan, 04 Sep 2018120hz is the highest currently but the overall screen quali... morescreen quality of the razer phone is actually better than rog, with the former in quad-hd, while rog is just fhd. furthermore, rog is on 18:9 aspect ratio and razer phone is 16:9 while there is currently no game that was made specifically for 18:9. yes, games can adapt the aspect ratio (as i have seen in my note 8) but it wouldn't look good. color reproduction is better in razer phone because amoled on the rog will tend to oversaturate the colors. it is in brightness, sunlight legibility, and contrast ratio where the razer phone would pale in comparison. so, no. rog is not better in terms of the screen. i own one of the 23,000 units razer sold, and believe me, even if games do not support 120Hz they definitely are responsive and super-smooth. as they say in gaming- once you go 120Hz, you'll never settle for anything less.

LG Superfan, 03 Sep 2018It will have tough time beating ROG phonei could agree to this given that the rog has the fan module, (rather small) shoulder buttons, better positioned usb-c port, and the 3.5mm headphone jack; but it still is a fact that the razer phone has 120Hz refresh rate compared to rog's 90Hz, and better speakers.

a proper d pad for accurate and tactile feedback would be good, touch screen gaming is so meh or at least support for wireless external controller

I'd tell Razer to FOCUS on revision2 dethroning revision1.
Don't look at anything made before the yet unannounced 855/860/865 or whatever (which they probably are already testing) unless they can bring some real good tricks up their sleeves like a SUPER OC SNAPDRAGON 845 WITH FULL 2 DAY BATTERY LIFE, EXTENDED GSM/WIFI/BT RANGE + A ZERO LAG UI - I can keep on going but that'd be so cool right?

The only thing Razer needs to do is fix the low-hanging fruit:
                            - fix that weaksause construction/durability
                            - fix the stupid Nexbit Robbin buttons
                            - AndroidOne software support
                            - add IP68 waterproofing
                            - change that screen (high battery drain!!).

Even if they stick with the old QSD 835, 4,000mAh battery, and no headphone jack....it would be okay. Those weren't the biggest letdowns of the Mk1.

The two main reasons why people loved the Razer Phone is for it's 120hz display and for it's incredible speakers. They are unlike anything else on the market. You take away any of those, and it loses all it's appeal.

If Razer knows it's business, then it will try to please it's fanbase rather than newcomers who may or may not buy the phone in the end.
