I hope they are durable. I used a Nokia X3-02 phone and after dropping it once, it didn't work at all and had to be sent for repairs while my Nokia 6300 can still be used despite dropping it from a flight of stairs a few times.

Dumb phones is a recent internet slang put into effect to classify non-smartphone lines of phones produced by companies. Obviously saying non-smartphone is a much tedious effort and they cannot do as much as a smartphone can. So an obvious result was calling such phones as dumb phones. It is not a derogatory word. It's a logical segregation of these type of phones.

Name in Hindi, dual sim, qwerty seems Nokia is aiming for Indian market, India is biggest mobile market in the world, people here prefer dual sim to fill geographical gaps in network coverage which all service providers have and also for sms as in India upper limit of messages which can be sent from one sim is 100.Now a days GPS and push mail are also getting popular, in sales number blackberry is number 3 after nokia and samsung.

we are happy but the worst ting about nokia stratage is they take much gap to put product in market and also big gap product to product .

[deleted post]GSMArena did not call these phones dumb. 'Dumbphones' is generally accepted as the name for non-smartphones today. It is a quick way to differentiate the mobile phones from smartphones. 'Feature phones' can also be used, it has the same meaning as dumbphone.

I'm from India and yes, "Asha" means hope. To launch Series 40 phones with 1GHz processor and capacitative touch screens at an event like Nokia World, Nokia must be in a really pathetic phase. Those who buy these phones are people who do not know nor care about an event like Nokia World.

Nokia should have quietly released these Asha series without creating such fanfare. I was a Nokia fan but switched to Android recently. I still love Nokia, but this is really sad. They need a lot of "hope" if they have to thrive in the market.
