                          Its looks an alien phone

Biz, 07 Sep 2018"So the camera isn't good enough for you, YOU need to help ... moreYou completely missed the point, which is that the photos Allan takes aren't even good enough for him without extra processing, which he mentioned in his first comment as well. This is not a favourable argument for the 808 PV.

And to your comment about processing, the whole point of point and shoot is to shoot straight to jpeg and be fine with the result. Post processing jpegs is not in any way ideal. For shooting RAW, which many smartphones can btw, it's better to use a better device (mirrorless or DSLR [if you're old]) and spent time on those images who has a much better starting point.

However if ones budget does not allow for a mirrorless/DSLR, but one does have computer and software for processing RAW and a burning passion for photography, then I understand shooting in RAW on smartphone and spending time perfecting them in post. That said one can get decent mirrorless/DLSR at the price of a smartphone, so I see it as a bit difficult to justify still.

bliblin, 07 Sep 2018"as I look at the complete picture on no higher resolution ... moreThey would, but the performance othwerwise isn't there. Had it been then sure :-)

My trusty Sony A6000 will remain my primary shooter until I either go A7 or A6500. But I genuinely do hope that soon I won't need a separate camera, and can only use my phone. Very difficult when mostly shooting in low light and very moving objects.

GTK DONALD, 07 Sep 2018what a shame , why smart phones doing this . why they cant ... moreHave you tried using those smartphones with dual or triple cameras? Try them so your question will be answered. Even Sony is joining the party with their own model with dual cam set-up.

TLDR: - I really wish they can create 'EVERYTHING IN FOCUS' photos instead of fake DSLR type shallow depth photos. 99.999% chance hmd will try to copy the capabilities of iphones. you can not beat iphones in their own games

i think you can call me a true nokia fanboy(don't hate i believe every company deserves fare chance) . And I think HMD can never take place of the olden nokia unless they have a bleeding edge camera smartphone.I really wish they took the rights to the pureview algorithms(ip) with the trademark. That said,
I used the nokia mixradio streaming service app on windows phone in 2012-13 in which they used the photo of artists in background of music player, the artists faces were always in focus even if they were they were standing at distances impossible to be all in focus in one single snap with one camera. may be done by a multi camera setup or recording all the data while camera very quickly shifts though focus. or may be though a pin hole type camera which can focus on everything regardless of the distance(studied in middle school). By no means i am a camera expert. I wish they implement EVERYTHING IN FOCUS approach though this five camera setup,
but of course one will(should) be a wide angle camera

someone, 07 Sep 2018samsung flagships are already using dual cameras since note... moreThe Note is not their flagship smartphone, the S9 is, and guess what? It has a single camera. If you want to state that I'm wrong regarding the flagship status, read the first paragraph on Samsung's own website: https://www.samsung.com/hk_en/news/product/galaxy-s9-and-s9-plus-camera-revolution/

This is ridiculous and probably not the real device. Also notice that all of the cameras look the same.

Multi-lens cameras are the future, software enhancement is the way forward as the L16 camera has shown us. It's early days but the tech is very promising.
