P K, 10 Sep 2018Ok, what's wrong with touching ur phone to open it?
I'd ra... moreHaha you're doing it wrong. All you have to do is glance at it even from an angle it works.
And since you want to use your phone, you have to take it in your hand, so immediately it unlocks.
None of that extra touching you fandroids do. 2013 knocked and wants its tech back. Lol

I'd rather do that, which is faster than to pull my neck look at my phone which is slower and more annoying

r33fd, 10 Sep 2018Can someone please explain to me how will this work ? Li... moreyou dont have to press the power button, you just place the finger on the screen, your normal fingerprint sensor is always on the same way this one is, you have to consider this sensor separate to the screen

Great but if it's true, we need to turn on "always on display", otherwise it'll require to turn the screen on every time before you unlock the phone.
Better turn on face unlock at the same time and use either of them depending on the case

Oh no. What a terrible step back.
In the era of passive biometrics some active biometrics still get development. What a sad day!
I mean on one hand you have people unlocking their phone just by looking at them and on the other you still have phone Touchers. I mean soon some would be able to control their phone with their mind and phone Touchers would be happy their phone is tangible still.
Phone Touchers are the same kind of people that 10 year ago was making fun of soft keyboards and much preferred blackberry's tiny keyboard. Same kind of people!e that are now attached to the tech they were making fun of 10 years ago.
Always a generation back.
What a sad day indeed.

Can someone please explain to me how will this work ?
Like for example with a traditional fs you could simply place your finger on it and the device wakes from sleep and unlocks at the same time.
With a in display fs you have to press power button first ?

Geric.770, 10 Sep 2018Wow. That AOD is still there. (Hopes for not eating too muc... moreIf it the AOD is dimmed like the one in Samsung, I don't think it will consume too much of battery.

Sushant Sic, 10 Sep 2018Always On Screen appears when the Phone is locked... :))I agree, but I think most people assign the "lockscreen" name for the state of the phone when you open the display and have the "wipe to unlock" screen.
Using the lockscreen for the always-on screen is confusing. That is clearly the always-on screen in the image.
