Our Xiaomi Mi Max 3 video review is up

10 September 2018
This is one big phone with a huge battery, mid-range internals, and affordable price tag.

Three things l would prefer different: fingerprint scanner to be lower, the screen to be a bit wider (follow max 2's ratio) and the virtual buttons to be outside the screen. Still, thank you Xiaomi for helping us escape Apple's and Samsung's absurd prices.

Snapdragon, 12 Sep 2018breaking news...i saw it on ebay but only black color. 4GB ... moreThen I guess you'll just have to wait a little longer :-)

I see at gearbest they have the global version on pre-sale, USD399 for 4GB, ending on September 19th, so perhaps it will be wider available then.

I also checked geekbuying, they have it in global version in Hong Kong, but only 4GB version in black. In chinese versions the have all colors and 6GB with official global ROM.

At aliexpress it is available in blue color, 6GB edition for USD 324.99 at my preferred seller, MI Global Store, and for as low as USD 312.99 at Goldway.

When shopping from China I see a bonus, other than just lower price, in getting the chinese version with official global ROM supporting OTA flashed onto it. Because then I know I won't get a DOA unit :-)

I asked the seller about it he confirmed it is the global version from factory no modifications. he is in texas. i also asked when he would get his hand on 6GB RAM...blue color my choice he said not sure when. and yes he is genuine

I got the mm3 short after it was released, really a nice phone.
I really dont care its the chinese rom, because i cant see it anywhere in the phone.
But i was unlucky, mine has a error, so i have to send it back to Sunsky in China from Denmark, good service btw. Now i wait for them to fix it or sending me a new one.
Meanwhile im thinking to buy the Honor Note 10 or the Honor 8X max, always good having one in reserve :-D

You need bands 2,4,12 and ideally 66 for TMobile. For ATT it would be 2,4,17 and 30. Bands 12 for TMobile and 17 for ATT are not optional if you want functional service. Xaiomi does not make large screen phones with those bands. OnePlus does so I'd look at the 6t model when it comes out. Xaiomi just doesn't likeo ey.

Xiaomi is best mobile company. No 1. We love you.

Snapdragon, 11 Sep 2018sorry ...in Marketing that does not qualify as product avai... moreFlaunting how little you know about marketing seems a bit pointless. But by all means, do as you please.

ebay, is a open marketplace and not one single retailer. I wouldn't use that as an example of something oppsite to aliexpress, as it is quite similar, though Ali is more like Amazon in my eyes, but they are all three pretty similar. Being sold though ebay, does not mean officially sold and marketed in the US.

Best buy, Walmart and similar, would be example of the opposite where they as a retailer officially market and sell to you directly as an end costumer as well as provide after market servicing.

You did bring up ebay, and guess what? You can buy the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with official global ROM, even in sealed box from several sellers on ebay. So i guees by your defition then it already is available in the US, even though they're not providing you and local warranty and service points, nor necessarily ship from the US.

Essentially, there is no difference for an end consumer to log on to ebay and shop, or aliexpress and shop. You search, add to cart, pay and receive. Only feedback is set up better on aliexpress and they ship faster (at least to Europe).

I used ebay a lot before, I actually have more than 1100 purches through ebay, but after aliexpress redesigned their shopping experience (which was horrible before), I now use aliexpress instead. My wife just got her Xiaomi Mi A2 last week from aliexpress, or the week before, and I'm just waiting for the Mi Mix 3 to be launched so I can order that for myself, unless they make it too small. Then I'll have to consider this Mi Max 3 instead, just not all that tempting as it doesn't have the best camera and power wise I already have the Prime version of Mi Max with SD652, essentially giving me pretty much no performance upgrade. Granted that has a terrible camera, but I want a improved Mix 2s-level camera in my next device

This seemed to be so promising. 7" phone with a massive battery and excellent built. But alas, spoiled by no OIS and no HD streaming. On top of that, availability of this India is still unknown in India. I respect Xiaomi, but this is disappointing, honestly.

It means it is hidden from the public. i also understand those chinese sellers are flashing the roms when you order them because they have chinese roms. so i will wait until it is sold by everyone

Xiaomi is not apprecia... moreThe global versions of these phones just support languages other than Chinese. No change to LTE support. The Mi MIX2 had good LTE support but it came with a less than 6" screen. They just cant seem to make a large screen phone with good LTE support. It's like someone is leaving a large amount of money on the table.

And still with horrible lte support. When can they start copying Samsung's and Apple's broad LTE support instead of Notches and curved screens?

Good thing the Max series didn't adopt that notch though.
                                      Thanks for the review!

still waiting for a global version . Xiaomi is not appreciating the fact that people want this phone even here in USA
