This could be a bigger problem for the Sony Ericsson fans because the prices of mobile phone will become higher if it is acquired by Sony alone. Because prices of Sony products all over the world are high compare to other brands.

ericsson was one of the best
my first mobile phone was ericsson 10 years ago and also that was uncompetitable mobile phone
i believe that sony is the great but NOT in mobile phone
however i hope will be lucky
bye jobs..and today bye ericsson ,but i believe ericsson will be a legend for all of the people

hoorraayyy!!! again my beloved sony mobiles with simple logo "SONY". I HAD SONY Z1,Z3 IN 1999-2000....ericsson was a big mistake in the logo from the beginning because people do not like ericsson mobiles so much, they were fragile and the resale price was very low at 2nd hand

I hope this move will bring us more outstanding phones (better and more high-end specs) from Sony to gain smartphone market share. =)
I guess Xperia Arc S will likely be the last phone under Sony Ericsson, before Sony announces the new set of phones during CES (10-13 Jan)and MWC (27 Feb-1 Mar) 2012. Hope Sony will wow the world =D

Finally!
I don`t know where to start... Sony Ericsson used Qualcomm chips in their entire Xperia familly this year, when they could easily have ST-Ericsson much powerfull chips but who is Ericsson, that wasn`t joint venture... that was 10 years long internal battle, the results of which was obvious - slow releases, slower reactions to the market, slower updates... so the split maybe it`s a good decision.
Now we could see wheter Sony could be even slower on phone market.
They were too late for digital TV, they are soooo late with tablets this year... they are even slow with PS Vita.
Sony will have one last chance to prove me wrong, but I think they will dissapoint.

let me put this in the list
1. Sony buy share in SE. a selfish move by sony.
2. Experia blog will closed. Sony is behind to this.
3. SE profit loose. what a shame result..
4. SE phone outdated.
5. SE fans leave. se user are disamazed these bout the phone experia phone. specs is not as good, late in updatting OS. half baked phone. the experia mini issues. wtf is that.. that phone shoudn't be released.
im sorry guys this are the things you need to know..
anyway goodluck to Sony and Ericsson.
its time to move on to Samsung or Lg phone.

I hope this whole buy/sell/merge/unmerge shenanigan ends up well: I'd hate to see another brand disappear from the market like what happened with the BenQ-Siemens affair.
(still hopeful that, now that the BenQ's rights to the Siemens brand expired, Siemens themselves re-enter the phone market, even if only low-profile)
