Protection increases to IP68, memory goes up to 512Gb for highest memory ie doubling it.

The point missing is the NET increase in Ram as the iPhone base Ram will also increase
Checking the GSMA article, Apple have reduced prices for older model by $100 / €100 base models
The XS launch price exactly match the launch price of the X, so a $100 reduction would mean had it not been discontinued the X@ $899 would be competing against the XS @$999
The similarities in specifications comes as no surprise, as Apple top focus is SoC , so whilst Apple are the first to use a 7nm process, Huawei were actually the first with the Kirin 980.
The Kirin 980 uses the 7nm process but is 5G capable!
The many features stated about the A12 bionic will be similar to the 5G Kirin 980
These trio of iPhones will obliterate the previous iPhone benchmarks. The Snapdragon 845 SoC was PDQ, we are now entering a realm where a person cannot detect a difference in opening individual apps only benchmarks show differences

Apple went from 4 inch display iPhone 5 to 4.7 inches iPhone 6 essentially relaunching the 5 with a bigger display and adding the non phone related Apple Pay
There were cosmetic difference but I really really expect the 2019 iPhone to be the 5G version of this years iPhone XS new design whatever but similar tweaked specs price same?

That's an overkill. 800x480 would be enough, especially considering the battery's supposed to be that tiny as well. Hopefully it's gonna be removable at the very least. And the lack of the headphone jack...is just sad. There's literally no GOOD reason not to include it. You just can't make up an excuse for that.

Too bad ;( I switched to IPhone when the SE came out. I love it and I wanted an upgrade ... Since there are no small phones left anymore, it’s back to Android again.

They will launch a small iphone coming Mar/Apr once they have cleared inventory of iphone SE. Good tactic.
