paco2x, 13 Sep 2018I bet in 3 months LG will launch a V40S ThinQ. And after that a V45 with Snapdragon 855, but lets hope after that a V50 without a notch! :P

Great, now if only quality improved, like sensor tech/size.

Hack there isn't even an app using the 845 to the max.. The V30 is also not underclocked as far as I know. Only heared the drivers aren't updated by LG, but maybe this is also only a rumor.

The G7 had the perfect dimensions but a subpar battery, now V40 seems to have a 158 mm length, isn't it difficult to carry such large phones esp to work, for males, now need to make shirt pockets that deep to accommodate such large phones , though ladies have their purses. A 155 mm length n less than 75 mm width is perfect for holding the phone. I have a note 9 and it ain't easy with a protective cover. I don't need a foot ruler..

mr phone, 13 Sep 2018doesn t the monochrome sensor make all photos overall bette... moreYes, technically it does help a bit, because the lack of the bayer filter, lets in more light, and can help in improving the dynamic range by blending details from the monochrome camera along with colour data from the regular camera.

However, as many people, reviewers and sites have pointed out, getting better low-light results doesn't really warrant a separate monochrome camera. Other approaches such a wider apertures (F-1.5), bigger pixel size (1.55um) or larger sensor sizes (1/2.3" sensor) are better and more efficient and effective. This is shown by devices like the Samsung Galaxy S9 and even the Google Pixel.

Plus, on it's own, a monochrome camera has limited useful scenarios. A more useful separate camera would be a telephoto or a wide-angle one.

This will be a perfect phone if the front camera doesn't suck again.

apps will be better and better after 2-3 years...more demanding.

question is, if the underclocked (closer to snapdrgon 821 than 835) v30 can hold up at least 2, 2.5 years of lagless experience in apps and games

Battery life is superb! I don't get any of the 'lag' that you're describing, it's as nippy now as it was when I first switched it on.

not good if u plan on keeping a phone 2-3 without lag

So, there it is. Normal low aperture camera, telephoto and wide angle.
                                But we'll get a 3300 mAh battery
                                (sigh)

That's very nice to compete with other flagships. :D

                                    Seems promising...
Shameless ripoff on Huawei's triple camera setup. But it compensates with the retention of wide angle camera!
                                    Great.
