Sorry to say but 4% is a lot, your phone is already at risk of shutdown in cold weather or at high loads. My oldest iPhone SE has gone through 3x as many cycles and is still at 100%, as it should be.
I will however agree that such fast charging isnt a major battery enemy, fast charging on electric cars is much more destructive but again that is partly because the capacity loss is measured in a more realistic way in cars.

Basically apple is doing the right thing. Users are idiots no matter what they think of themselves the apple way is the way of the idiot, guess where the slogan "it just works" came from and is for? I use fast chargers as 5v/9v power supplies and charge my phones with my old 5v@1A chargers. A 4000mah battery charges in around 4h 30min, but since it lasts two days for me i charge it every second night. Yes you have the "maybe fire" thing, but you have a "probably fire" thing with quick charging since you're stressing the components more, even if they were designed for a higher load the end result is obvious - luck. Look at it this way pop kids, either you live a safe life with working ubuntu, windows 7 and android or take the death road with iOS, osX and windows 10.

Good, less risk of fire and explosions, certain korean brands are ok with explosions but others arent so easily getting used to it and prefer it not happening, plus slow charging is a batterys best friend. Those who think they want fast charging can pay the additional. I wrote "think" because it doiesnt take much planning to charge a phone, especially when considered that small charges, like up to 60%, will make a battery last 10,000 recharges instead of 1,000.

Apple saves 3,- euros for a fast charger but at the same time they ask a price 1.649,- euros ($ 1.918,-) for an iPhone Xs Max (an average, nothing special smartphone with an ugly notch)! Apple/Samsung, keep you overpriced junk, I'm certainly not buying any Apple or Samsung ever!

So the difference with standard charging seems quite small to me. Definitely worth it.

Up until iPhone 7 Apple was lagging behind
After that you got Amoled, passive biometrics, AR that is actually useful, much bigger screen without increasing the footprint, camera that is actually top notch and so much more.
IPhone 7 must have been the single worst iPhone ever. Both in revenue and features. Then X came and changed everything.
Once again GSMarena users are *exactly* wrong (I.e. the opposite of what they say is the actual reality). Incredible how much you can count on certain people to be consistently wrong

Good. Quick charge trashes batteries. If users want to trash their phone's battery let it be their decision.
The one and only way to fast charge your phone without killing your battery is to have a replaceable module.
Unfortunately no company ever pursued that (I.e. a replaceable back all the while the phone is still powered by a small internal battery) because it harms their bottom line (more trashed batteries = more sales long term)

it took all Apples courage when they removed the headphone jack. After announcing iphone 7 there has not been any worthwhile improvement on apple phones. I will stick to my old apple until support discontinues.

My Xiaomi Mi5 was 250€ and has QuickCharge 3.0. Huawei P7 had regular charging, but it had a 2.1A charger (that's around 10W charging). Hell, most powerful non-quick charge chargers are rated at 2.4A (12W). 5W on Apple's charger is 1A. That's what I had on my HTC Wildfire almost decade ago... Surely Apple could toss such charger into a box of such expensive device. Imagine having Tesla with just a wall socket plug for charging instead of quick charge stations. That's iPhone. It's rather pathetic actually... Premium product with garbage slow charger because company is greedy and users too stupid to demand better for the ridiculous money they pay for the product... Which is why I don't and never will own anything Apple.

Until apple provide fast charger with iphone their fanboy will say, who needs a fast charger? If apple start provide fast charger next year their fanboy will, its a apple invention... lol
