As always it will blow android out of the water. Lol. Scores aside

But to partly answer the question the ram is not so much required by the OS but increasingly by the camera and other hardware dependent features such as Face ID

after soo many years we still count things in base of an app that give some numbers.. what if they pay that app owners so they can make the phones give a better score even if there is not much of a change ?

          I tot IOS doesn't need more than 1GB RAM.. How come latest iPhone c/w 3GB & 4GB?

I'm guessing the hyped 50% boost mode is sold separately in that dongle shop?

So Huawei bragging about being "world's first" 2-core NPU while Apple casually announce 8-core NPU lol

Maybe they do, but we'll only find out if they get busted for cheating. I am not defending Apple or saying they don't cheat on benchmarks but I also highly doubt that they don't cheat either. Unfortunately, they haven't been busted in public like what happened to Huawei, Oneplus and Samsung.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2018Great scores but not enough to be noticeable for any iPhone... moreDenial? Pathetic.

You do not even realize that iPhone has weakness on thermal.

845 toting phones open most of the apps faster than the iPhone X, and are miles ahead in terms of multi tasking, still the X beats them in benchmarks by a handsomely.
Or are you waiting for them to accept that they cheat, and till then you are going to believe that Apple never cheats.
I am obviously NOT saying that Apple DOES cheat benchmarks, but you should not blindly defend them just cause they have not publicly accepted the cheating.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2018Great scores but not enough to be noticeable for any iPhone... moreAs an Android user, I will answer you. That's the only thing in which iPhone is better, speed benchmarks. On real use, will give about one second or two of advantage. As always, we have better battery, better camera, better sound, updates, and everything. By the way, don't believe so much in this, 'cause the last year iPhone X was supposed the fastest smartphone on the market, but on test side by side, the Samsung Note 8 with the new android beat him.

Just by reading the 1st words I understood that that gen was a bust :,p

Last year gsma called iPhone X as "business as usual" which made me *sure* that it was something extraordinary (and it was). They call this gen "special" so I *knew* that it is a bust.

Indeed. Both Single and multi core scores are practically the same. Apple has finally stopped competing now that she understood that her competition is comprised of bums. Oh no :/ . Moore's law is dying :/ :/... We'd live in a dystopia before long (Moore's law saved us from stagnation and thus WW 3).

Soooo sad. It is the start of the end.

Not really so much improvement, expected a little big higher score for a 7nm processor, anyways the single score its amazing

just when banana fan bois was waiting some crazy numbers like 7000 single core and 20000 multi core, here they have it with the same numbers as the last one and they are afraid that samsung or someone else may get their dream numbers. enjoy it lads

Not much improvement on the multicore scores although single core scores have improved considerably. Let's see how the next 7nm SoC, the Kirin 980, will score when it arrives, assuming of course they don't cheat on their benchmark scores.

For single app performance, iPhones dominate.
For multitasking, Android flagships do it in a breeze.

These benchmarks don't reflect real world performance. For actual users, the android flagships perform far far better especially when it comes to multitasking. iPhones are terrible at multitasking where Androids are massively ahead.
