One fewer: the OnePlus 6T will not have a headphone jack, Carl Pei confirms

It's official, folks. OnePlus even unveiled a version of its Bullets V2 headphones with USB-C as the 3.5mm model is going the way of the dodo.

I am currently using my first OP (5t), and I'm not that impressed. Now that they are removing the headphone jack, I'm not willing to try the next version. Sorry OnePlus, trying to copy Apple is not always the best thing to do.

        Yeah, right... Now there is a place for new tech and bigger battery! What a bag of BS!
        We all saw what Apple put instead a headphone jack, peace of useless plastic and claiming to be a termo-atmosferic reguator or something... Excuses, excuses, excuses...

          No 3.5 jack? That's bad news for people like me who use the phone in the car as navigation device and listen to music via aux. Most of the cars DON'T have Bluetooth radio AND navigation, also maps of build in car-navigation are not as good, detailed and with all the features that a iGo/Waze/Sygic even Google maps have.
          I'm so glad I've got OP6.

            Much like their survey on the notch ....

            One plus is so full of BS ... no one wanted the notch (look now they making it less relevant with the tear drop style) and no one wanted the headphone jack removed. Their justification is that they can add more battery into the phone but by how much? No one will be satisfied sacking the headphone jack for a battery under 4500 mAh as well as no IP68 rating.

            One plus is getting bigger and they are now contradicting themselves even more by ignoring their customers as well as increasing the price for their phones and having customers "settle" for missing features in their flagship line.

            I'm not gonna spend money on a no headphone jack One plus 6 ..... that's just stupid. I am a OnePlus Fan boy coming from Samsung but now I'm starting to question if it was just a phase or something.

            At least with samsung .... there are much less compromises and a ton of features despite the harsh premium price tag with their phones.

            I'm getting disappointed in OnePlus .....

                                The point is, within their inheritable inconvenience, the adapter doesn't just much. For instance, you could just leave the Y adapter in your charger and be done with. You can also just leave the straight adapter in your headphones and be done with. Most of the inconvenience was already there, cause by the wired headphones themselves. You'll get used to the adapter faster than you had to get used to the wires of the headphone.

                                Or you could just drop the wires. It's a trade-off, have to charge a battery or get used to wires -- and adapters, which already existed long before USB-C. For instance, all my decent headphone had a separate control body for volume and track which then would attach the main headphones. Never heard anyone complain about that before, in fact all I ever heard was praise.

Anyway, we all know how they look anyway and there's no way anyone will be more comfortable with that instead of just a sible 3.5mm jack with a tiny cable, with nothing else attached to it.
