Cool. I really hope they make an android tv box with a proper OS skin that looks & works great unlike the many hunderds of cheap crappy tv boxes with janky software

Yeah, I'm not quite "feeling" this.
I trust Nvidia with hearing/seeing me in my undies in the living room much more than I trust OnePlus. In fact, even Amazon, Samsung and Google are sketchy. The only exception is Apple, because if they get caught spying on people it could potentially ruin their business costing Hundreds of Millions of Dollars.
One approach I've recommended was to pick up a cheap Xiaomi unit instead, then flash a trusted Custom Rom (sketchy re-sellers). Then use that, if you value price AND privacy.

Don't see the point, the market is a little saturated. It will be incredibly hard for them to make a dent in it.
Not even Apple dared to enter it and just went with a roku box.

So who will buy a TV from Oneplus ? Xiaomi makes TV's too, but still i would go with some LG or other that have done these things for decades and there for have experience in that category. If the OnePlus will come with a TV that will cost less then the mainstream and have better specs for it, then it's a different story.
Entering the market that is already full of who knows how many brands and TV's seem to be in a place where it's starting to die out as everyone use either there phone or tablet for that media and so on
