People just complains that one phone is a rip-off from another when they don't realize that most companies add and release features for their devices following the demands of the consumers.

Subjective opinions aside I can't agree more, making a fresh back panel design sure makes people feel good about spending premium on such devices.

The Mate 20 is shaping up to be one of the (if not the) best smartphone of 2018. I love the fact that they've adopted the waterdrop notch (although the pro version seems to be stuck with the Apple notch), and am happy to see the 3.5mm jack make a reentry. It would sweeten the deal even further if it has a SD slot... but maybe I'm hoping for too much.
Still, based on the leaks, I'm very satisfied with what Huawei has cooked up. I'll still reserve proper judgment till official release though!

Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Best camera of 2018.

The Mate 20 Pro will have a awesome camera, irregardless of what they show in ads.

This would have been a perfect S8+ replacement, to lead me in the 7mm, what a shame it has a notch though...
I will never buy a phone with a notch and chin. The chin is unacceptable and beats the purpose of the notch...

Forget 3 cameras, the primary 40MP 1/1.7" sensor of the Mate 20 will be enough to destroy that phone's primary+secondary+front camera all combined together.

Hmm, if your going to have multi cameras, this neat, tapered curved square is a very nice, succinct, clean professional way of presenting them!! HTC use to do this too. Much better than dated looking, awkward rectangles real-estate stretching the middle or side.

This and the Nokia 9 are probably the main contenders in getting me to try something else than Samsung for a while. Though, if this has a NOTCH it's going to be DOA in my books.

Geric.770, 17 Sep 2018Agreed.
You won't be disappointed on Huawei's flagships. After bought my wife Mate 9 last year, i'm impress with them and after a long Sony flagship user, switch to huawei and bought mine Honor 8 pro. No regrets. And that flagship phone are on budget price.
Now i'm rocking with Mate 10 pro, hopefully Mate 20 got real upgrades from it. Well at least in camera department definitely will.

It's fascinating how they want to be completely different instead of being a copycat (Xiaomi!).
I know, Huawei has been an iOS copycat also before, but EMUI 5 was the right direction to balance between the best of both worlds: having an iOS like software while maintaining the great performance on Android and EMUI.
