The notch has helped utilize more screen estate as the notification panel moves up from the real usable screen.
Now all that's left to take up some space on the 18:9 display are the software keys, but hiding them will make it even more expanded, so you're basically getting a larger surface area to work on.

And that's the great thing about Android. It's not slapping the notch completely to the users, and gives a rather practical way of trying to eliminate it visually.
I have to admit that I was a hater of the notch when it started with the iPhone X, but it turns out that I just didn't like Apple's implementation of it and Android have shown us how it's really done.

If the rumours hold true of stereo speakers, tele/wide cameras and 3.5mm quad dac then this could be one of the most complete packages currently available

I was doubting between the Mate 20 Pro and the V40, since I own a Mate 10 and a V30 and love them both.

You people don't understand what a notch is, because it's ugly way beyond looks

It's some weakness from the manufacturer, with a notch they do admit that they don't have the tech to hide theses sensors, that they're too lazy on innovation, or that they don't know anything else that following blindfully trends, wether they're good or not.

It's the second option with apple

For LG, each time they tried to innovate, they've been mocked mercilessly.
So they don't do innovation anymore.
Guess we get the phone we deserve.

Only samsung and LG put micro sd card slot in their... moreSame reason why some remove headphonejack, because consumers want a 4000 mha battery instead of 3000/3300. I think it is good LG didn't go that way. They better first develop smaller or different battery, so they don't need to remove parts. Though I am bluffed how LG, Samsung and Huawei fitted 3 cameras inside the phones. Guess smaller camera sensors? Which isn't always a good option.

"We expect the V40 ThinQ to have a triple camera on the back..."

And to be priced way too high.

The hardware bootloop issue was only relevant to the G4/V10/Nexus 5x. Since 2016, the issue isn't present anymore. Some LG phones after that still end up with bootloop, but that's software related & easily fixable by the user with the help of flashing tools.

The reason why you keep hearing about bootloop issues is because people keep reading fake comments regarding bootloop issues on newer phones (mostly by angry ex-LG users who were subjected to the bootloop issue back in the day) & they share those beliefs onto other platforms, thus this fake news keeps regurgitating...

...and if i have, i manage to solve them since is my fault, nothing like people without balls to admit the bootloop is more fault of the user itself than LG, but because that users lack of ball then blame LG for that.

Its easier for them and to make the brand look worse than others but i see more probloems with sammy's and crapple's than on LG so...no chance with me, i still and will keep buying LG phones since i pay what i get and dont be around overpay for a featureless phone like iJunk or Shitty9, Nothing9.
