For those wondering, this isn't the pixelbook 2. That will remain as a traditional laptop form factor. This tablet is mostly competing against the Surface Pro/iPad Pro and can be a real contender.

I had a Pixelbook and it was the best gadget.I have ever owned. Perfect design (Example: one USB-C on each side, v useful!), performance, weight, keyboard etc. Just one problem: No Adobe CC, so one may as well spend the money on a similar priced range Lenovo Yoga Windows machine, install Chrome and Adobe CC and you have the best of both worlds.
Second Adobe release FULL CC in the cloud, then a high end Chromebook will make sense for power users.
Otherwise they are best suited to students, writers, bloggers, cloud based business users, but not creative professionals.

Overpriced netbooks.
Google should just give up. Nobody wants her sh*t. She should go back in mimicking apple and finally build a light weight android tablet.
Enough with this Chrome OS silliness. This is an overpriced toy...

Definitely interesting device!
I have been waiting a long time to see 2 in 1 Chromebook with reasonable good specks!
This is good looking, slimm, can be used in tablet mode like android tablet and with keyboard like chromebook. Definitely something that can compete with iPad Pro series.
In android environment there is none that can compete with iPad Pro. In PC environment MS Surface pro has the means, but it is more a PC and less a tablet. This is more in the middle.

I'd say it's awesome
It may finally replace Android tablet with true tablet/desktop morphing.

Google can't be trusted when it comes to the tablet. They make a great product but drop the ball in the middle. Even in Mobile, they dropped the ball for Nexus and went with Pixel...Not sure how long this is going to last1

Hopefully the support from google is long and the price isn't too high. One could accuse the device of having too big a bezel on the top, bottom and sides but then again if the extra space means the keyboard is well laid out and there is good travel I'm not going to berate Google for the extra bezels.
Battery needs to be nice and big and the charger needs to be high wattage like MBP from Apple.

That is some unfortunate bad wording in the headline, for anyone half interested in technology. Will it run Windows 10 in S mode? :)

A "USB C" port each on either sides is perfect.
Google was amongst the first to introduce USB C port on a device back in 2015 (Technically the v first device was the Nokia N tablet released in jan 15).
