24 September 2018
Although the device was reported to be the first from Samsung to have an in-display fingerprint scanner, reports of LCD displays are conflicting.

What is the obsession with the "P30" name?

Both Moto P30 & Samsung P30 are using that name to get some additional sales in China. (Notice how these phones are China-exclusive & not releasing world-wide... also there's no legit reason for them to be called P30...)

Anyways, my point wasn't about anyone copying anyone else's features, it was about some of the hypocritical comments below...

It's triple camera is also different and the best, so I don't get the term copy. At this point, who doesn't copy? Samsung copies, Huawei copies, everybody copies.

It's funny when Huawei "copies" a feature or design element from other companies, these haters start bashing Huawei, but when other companies "steal" a feature (triple camera) or naming scheme (P30), then they're like "So what?". This is the definition of Hypocrisy!

BTW, the only reason Motorola & now Samsung have used the P30 names for their China exclusive phones is to steal from Huawei's Chinese market share.

People seem to think Samsung will let Huawei and Xiaomi come for them unchallenged.

While Huawei and Xiaomi profit share in the market increased in recent times and Apple held steady, Samsung fell. Everything about this P30/P30+ is a shot at Huawei to tell them they notice what they're doing and they're ready to up the ante. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a notch as well.

Here's the message Chinese copy cats, Samsung isn't HTC, Sony, or LG. They're not going to ignore the threat you pose to their dominance. Come for them and you've got a problem.

Moto (lenovo) P30, Samsung P30. And all for confuse people before Huawei p30 launch. Who else?
Interesting, chinese b-brands didn't named their phones this way, but "a"-brands do. Looks like lenovo and samsung now leaved a-brand market and became miserable fakemakers like NokLa in past. So pathetic.
