They are not. But if you must know, Apple (12.1%) is in third place of five phone manufacturers: behind Samsung (20.9%) and Huawei (15.8%), but ahead of Xiaomi (9.3%) and Oppo (8.6%) In addition, their market share has been consistently dropping for a year now, and is the currently the lowest it's been in a year and a half, so, no, they're really not doing well, objectively speaking.

        If the 512 GB version was 4000 € and the 256 GB version was 2000 €, the 256 GB version would probably still sell like crazy.

Dornez, 25 Sep 2018I think it's for those with a 7, 6, and below Seems like lots of iPhone 8 owners are making the jump, and it makes sense since they feel they made the wrong decision last, they listened to uninformed people (and jealous people) who said the X was not the obvious option. I and a few others tried to convince buyers to go for the X directly but too many still bought 8 and now seek to rectify their mistake from last year.
                We went for X and has no hurry to upgrade, but a considerable number of X owners has chosen the Xs over the Xs Max, and only one guy i know of who ordered Xs returned it and kept the X.

Its a thing, the more money you have the more you enjoy making purchases that has low cost of ownership, even if its costly to begin with. Tesla cars is another example of this, the incedntives and the lower cost of ownership/service gives better returns when buying a new.
                  The unfortunate thing is that the very poor who cannot make the initial investment miss out on these opportunities to save long term, and thats what makes you bitter.

                        XS looks the same of last year's. I actually hope the XS does flop. Faster discount for it.

                        I was looking at my holster cases and trying to picture a Pixel 3 inside of them. I'm thinking of getting something even smaller like the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact. My only issue is how chubby the XZ2C is. It's at 12mm. Maybe I'll wait for the XZ3C instead.

                        I want something with a similar size as the iPhone 7/HTC One M7/Nexus 5 or even smaller. The Pixel 2, 3, iPhone X, and XS are a little too tall. I think 135-140mm height range is perfect. Anything taller than that, harder to reach for the top.

                          It's a no brainer as the new iPhones are exactly the same as previous year's model, people are buying the bigger version for atleast some distinction. Buying the smaller iPhone XS is like buying an iPhone X a year later

                                  mobile manufacturer/maker esp Apple fooling people of their phone. Its just the same flavor and design.... nothing especial. even android phone.... the bottomline is they are all the same!

                                    The article is totally opposite to the present condition in US. It's second week running and lot of stores carry most of the XS Max Models readily available in stock for pick up. The carriers are still taking a week's time for delivery but just visit the Apple site and pick up yours in the closest store. I am still an apple user but the price hike with no commendable upgrade is really not a sensible move for Xs. and btw where this analyst gets it's sample from?
