if they wanna stand out stop copying other manufacturers. That's all you needed to do. No one cares about your "special" chip.

Gary, 27 Sep 2018If it's as simple as putting together some ARM cores, why a... morebecause of money
why pay fee to arm then build buildings for reaearch and hire hundreds of people and pay them wages ?
why invest in something which will be just another negative profit for them
better invest money in profitable stuff like displays and camera sensors
its much better business wise to buy qualcomm chips for fraction of the prise than build your own soc
huawei, apple and samsung can afford to spend 5billion because they are getting few times more per year
Although apple is trying to get these 5billion back by cutting there losses with fast chargers and dongles

just because western countries treat chinese brands with communist propaganda doesnt mean they dont do it aswell and their stuff are manufactured by same parts and workers just few metres away

Earlier HiSilicon Kirins were infamous for having less-than-impressive GPUs, but they have vastly improved in the last couple of years.
However, the biggest disadvantage is their release schedule. The new Kirins are released at the end of a calendar year, along with the Mate series.
But by the beginning of the next year, a couple of months later, the new Snapdragon (and Exynos) chipsets would already be on the market, with much better performance than the Kirins. This is exactly what makes the P-series have less than flagship performance during benchmarks.
Obviously, it's a different scenarios for Apple's A-series chipsets as they are so powerful compared to the competition, that they often run circles around even the next year's flagship chipsets.

Huawei also uses MediaTek SoCs - being a Chinese company, that is not a surprise - for example, on the Huawei Y5 Prime (the 2018 model), which uses the Mediatek MT6739, powered with the PowerVR GE8100 GPU.

Simple explanations cause no one would want one. It was all the time inferior than competition, well at least until now, still not going to be faster than A12 as they claimed, not even close and definitely not faster than SD 855 or next Exynos

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2018sure...sure...qualcomm is not bad either.the graphics department is amazing, but the CPU... since 2014 they started to disappint. :/ And qualcomm was always preformance Oriented. Exynos is more toward power saving.

The most nonsense explanation ever. Anyone can make similar chipset like that. Not sure if any other manufacturer want it either. Huawei cheat on benchmark anyway. Qualcomm still make better chipsets.
