"To get an edge over the competitor" This is true. Here is why.
If huawei announce a flagship phone with snapdragon 710? Well, people will say "wtf! Huawei? You are robbing customers money".
Why do people say that? Because people compare with other flagships chipsets(SD835/845) and SD 710 has significantly lower performance and cost.
What if huawei launch a flagship phone with kirin 960? People have no idea. Most don't know kirin960 has similar performance to SD 710.
In this way, huawei can make more money buy using crap kirin chipset.

I don't mean Snapdragon's CPUs are Feeble. When comparing within the Android realms, they are absulutely the best~! But when I add apple into the formula, I am disappointed, as Apple uses *literally* gurgantuan sized cores. Look at the Vortex cores! You can place 4 Kryo 385 gold on them! And even the tempest cores beats a stock A73 in the same frequencies!) That's why I said Qualcomm's SoC is weak. In comparasion to Apple!

And they reduce the High Performance Core speed too, from 2.6Ghz on their "press release" to 2.5, so it looks like these A76 really are power hungry.

TBH, Huawei’s SoCs seem to work pretty well with their UI. I’ve been using a P10 (Kirin 960) and so far no slowdowns, in fact it got faster on some operations after updating to Oreo. Of course, results will vary depending on the user and how they use their phones. Kirin 980 might not be fastwr than the Apple A12 and the upcoming Snapdragon 855 and the next Exynos SoCs but in the end itÂ’s how the UI takes advantage of the SoC and other hardware.

In fact, once you factor the "openness" factor (ie. ability to build ROMs from source), one can even claim they are just the undisputed leader in all mobile land.

And A12 is out already. Apple does play their own game with chipsets, so you can understand that they refuse to sell them, but Huawei chipsets are not that impressive so this makes no sense.

People just can't hardly move when they know that they can't stop the envasion of huawei technologies. Pitty on you guys, you only know how to speak but huawei just keep in silent and let their flagships speaks. EMUI is very usable I used to be a sony user and sony are good and durable. But when I switched to huawei I found the real value of having a smart phone with you. My P10 plus just cant do most of the things I want. To mention some is its ability to capture send documents. Fastastic job Huawei dear. I love the Huawei P20 pro but still cant find a good reason to replace my P10 plus.
