Not okay to slate Nokia over the N97, because it was "way back then." But it's okay to slate the ENTIRE XPERIA range over the X8/Mini Pro when they, too, were way back then. Nice unbiased opinions, mate.

I'm not saying that Android is the best OS out there but my SGS2 is sure the best phone I've had since my I8910 Omnia HD, which despite the lack of apps and support never let me down once. Same thing with SGS2. I'm running the standard ROM and never had a single problem, crash or freeze. I don't know what people do with their phones lately but I wonder what those who experience problems have done to mess them up like in the stories I've read. I guess you'll have to take my word for it but all my high-end phones worked perfectly despite heavy use of internet and playing HD video content every day. (I'm addicted to watching movies on my phone)

I think you have misunderstood what Open Source means. Or maybe you're just stupid. Did you know that Symbian is also Open Source? Open Source might reveal security holes, too, but it is a major advantage for the users of the platform when it comes to that there are a lot more developers than just the bunch who created it.
Viruses are not rocket sience... They are just stupid applications that act wrong to mess up your system.
I have never came across any viruses on the OS. Partly maybe because I read the comments... And don't download crap useless apps from unknown publishers...

Atleast google removes them and what Nokia has to give user buggy OS that hangs every now and then I had use N73 and the worst phone of my life I will never going to buy any Nokia phone. Learn and research about it and you'll know that anyone can upload a malware app on the Market. Google is silently removing apps on a regular basis after a malware app is proven to cause harm. It's not like Google is removing them before the malwares can do harm, Google is removing them after they victimized. Those malware apps pretend to be legit apps and it's hard to spot them.

It's so open that anyone can make a malware app and upload it into the Android Market and start victimizing those who downloaded the app. It's the downside of being so open and Google will only remove the malware app if it was proven to cause harm. It sucks.
Those who say it's not a problem and it can easily be solved by installing an anti-malware app are living in denial would not admit that Android is fundamentally flawed.

But, in case you havent heard, God created a thing called anti-virus. Really, how many android users do you know that complain about viruses? Or are you just trying to keep old myths alive such as the os being "laggy." I guess if you cant win in performance then you can win a war of words.

I can't help but laugh when people claim that malware is a downer on Android... lol, the amount of the malware depends on the popularity of the os. It really is ridiculous. For example, if ios was the market leader in OSes, I'm pretty sure it would have all of those malwares... It's not a fault by the OS, it is a curse that comes along with the success of an OS.

have you seen n900 pwned all other mobile OS'es back then, Nokia just did'nt continue using Maemo (shame)
but there's no such thing as perfect phone, Sensation has death grip, iOS5 has battery problems, Xperia series have android market crash (yeas i used x10mini pro and x8 before), sgs2 freezing even on dual core and so forth and so forth
bottomline is Nokia despite of all the imperfections are still number 1 in the whole world (including feature phones)
