Shanti Dope, 29 Sep 2018The class-leading SoC scores for Android devices is the Sam... moreExcept the Exynos 9810 performs like crap in real life+gives terrible battery life, even slower than the 970+845 in app opening. Benchmarks are useless the a12 was beaten by Pocophone with 845 in a real life speed test. Exynos and a series are good at benchmarks only but can't deliver in real usage.

Shanti Dope, 29 Sep 2018The class-leading SoC scores for Android devices is the Sam... moreDo you know why I am not disappointed every time a new SoC is announced?
It's because I don't set my expectation too high.
Iet's talk about the 980, I knew there will be a huge leap in CPU preformance, but then my logics stopped me "Hadar, Don't be a fool. How large a leap can be? 1000 points? 1200 points? Expect a change of 800 at most, anything beyond, is a bonus". So I've set my mind to expect around 2700-2800 Single.
Think the same. Let your logics help you.
P.S. Yes, Hadar is my real name.

Kirin 980 will be impressive no doubt.

Kiyasuriin, 29 Sep 2018Actually. I found the numbers. Single is 3100. Multi is a... moreThe class-leading SoC scores for Android devices is the Samsung Exynos 9810 with a single core score of 4004 and a multi-core score of 10,012 (https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/15/exynos-9810-crosses-4000-points-on-geekbenchs-single-core-test/)
It's the first Android SoC to beat the Apple A10 Fusion in pure CPU performance and almost there with the A11 Bionic.

If those scores of the Kirin 980 are to be believed, then the Snapdragon 855 will smoke this new chipset in just 6 months right after the first phones with SD855 gets official.
I guess I've set my standards too much, that I was expecting scores that beat the A11 Bionic at least.

All chip designers exaggerate their scores big time. Apple's multi core scores can be tested by actual users the opening multiple apps and seeing how slowly or fast they perform.
Also, all the throttling causing serious heating issues as well as long term issues with apps and performance. And after 1-2 years Apple itself slows down phones, to ensure users buy the next iteration. Apple has been claiming their A10 performed as well if not better than laptop processors. If that were the case, they would be the SOLE manufacturers (designers actually) of processors.

Realistic1, 28 Sep 2018I doubt their real numbers can match even A11...Actually. I found the numbers.
                        Single is 3100.
                        Multi is about 9500.
Class leading in multi for Android, and about 700 points below A11 for multi, it doesn't even reach A10 in single core preformance!

"In normal benchmarking scenarios, once Huawei’s software recognizes a benchmarking application, it intelligently adapts to “Performance Mode” and delivers optimum performance. Huawei is planning to provide users with access to “Performance Mode” so they can use the maximum power of their device when they need to.

Apples SoC. e.g A11 and the 4G LTE. A12 using the 7nm TSMC, is optimised for IoS.

Android is the other OS so despite all have snapdragon 845, multiple flagship all come back with benchmark in the same ballpark

Gsmarena have not submitted review for these 2018 iPhones, there are figures purporting to be Geek bench 4 figure
Again another post state that it is real world performance which I agree 100%.

The world has fallen into the Apple trap and that it Apple considers a faster chip is a serious upgrade.
Huawei reason is to post better benchmarks to compete with Apple, but again I understand the difference between 98.4 and 101+ farenheit but if you take antutu, and Geekbench, for 2 phones how is that concerted in real world performance
Apple can continue to boast re single core performance and how its phone is always on top, but 10 years still no memory expansion

I had a phone before, which has old octa core CPU (Mediatek mt6592m). It had unoptimised OS, and it wasn't fast as it should be. There were overheating problems, due to bad kernel. On the other side, gaming performance was good, and benchmark scores were high.

Then, I decided to install custom ROM and kernel. I replaced stock Android 4.4 with Cyanogenmod 11 (Kitkat). Then, I was amazed by its performance. It was too quick, with nearly instant response after tap. There wasn't CPU heating any more. It used CPU more efficiently, and even battery life has improved. But, benchmark scores stayed the same.

Manu76, 28 Sep 2018I'll tell you which perform better in day to day. All flagships?
