Some iPhone XS and XS Max units refuse to charge until you wake them up

The issue applies to wired charging and appears to be widespread; our samples are unaffected.

This is the advantage of such a large user base, every little bug gets reported and fixed. Also Apple users demand satisfaction, for the amount they pay.

    They didn't reduce the price so they shall suffer

      Apple : you place your phone incorrectly / on inappropriate place, that's why it refused to charge

        You're NOT supposed to charge your iPhone - Apple has already OVERCHARGE it for you..LOL

                For up to 40% improvement in power consumption, the A12 Bionic is basically a more efficient yet more powerful A11 Bionic, which in itself pretty much destroys every other smartphone SoC except in GPU (but poor optimization of Android apps make it seem like Apple also has superior graphics performance).

                  Would've been nice if iPhones adopted to USB-C like their MacBooks. So a MacBook, iPhone, Android, and Nintendo Switch can all be charged with one cord. Stalling it for next year's iPads and iPhones.

                      Gorilla Glass 6 looks like an improvement finally (maybe too early to tell).
                      In the mean time I'll probably just try Spigen's GLAS.tR Nano Liquid to protect any screen from scratches.

                      It would be a nice touch if OEM's have 1 screen protector already applied/ fitted, so that you're ready to go ;)

From my experience two years with 6s it had a lot of bugs. Just not forget also last year's fascistic battery update forcing users to replace

                                  Folks need to be careful being an early adopter. Nothing wrong waiting over a year for price drop. I didn’t get my iPhone SE until May 20, 2017 when it was only $200 at Best Buy for the AT&T prepaid one. That's nearly 14 months after release. It went for $150 or lower just months later before going back up in price.

                                  I also happen to have the inferior Samsung-made chip which tends to overheat more. It honestly doesn't bother me one bit unless I use it for GPS all day which I rarely do. Just mostly OCD nerds on MacRumors wanting the best of everything to make themselves feel better. I think this issue could go away with an update. If it's hardware, then expect a recall. Apple can afford it.

                                  I was thinking... 70% CPU gain from 2014 to 2015. An 80% gain from 2015 to 2018. Apple really did perfect the SoC since the A9 chip with just tweaks here and there. To gain something like that A9 chip, we would now have to wait 3-4 years. Apple's SoC is becoming a double-edged sword. Less frequent upgraders now. It used to be 2 years. Now it can stretch to 4.

                                    I didn't realize how little gain the A12 chip has from its predecessor. The biggest gain was from A8 to A9.

                                    A7 -> A8 = 25%
                                    A8 -> A9 = 70%
                                    A9 -> A10 = 40%
                                    A10 -> A11 = 25%
                                    A11 -> A12 = 15%

                                    By the time we get to the A11, Apple no longer mentions GPU gains. From A8 to A9 also had the highest GPU gain in the 64-bit era with 90%. The iPhone 6s/SE truly were a beast.

                                    My SE is still fast after 16+ months. Feels the same the night I bought it. And with the lower resolution and smaller display, it will age better when it comes to GPU performance. I really feel the SE represents that 2007-2013 era the best when phones were still small.

                                    The A9 might have been the biggest gain in performance since we went from A4 to A5. I remember the 4s had 7x faster GPU. The iPhone 4 aged badly with games after 2-3 years. Mine would lag just playing Candy Crush and Subway Surfers! Horrendous with Sonic Dash. Should have waited for the 4s instead.

                                    The 10S doesn't seem to be much gain. At least the glass is stronger on it and the camera is clearly better. Perhaps Apple has perfected in SoC design. We'll see what the A13 chip brings but I only expect 25% gains or less from here on out.

                                      Notch will not bother me, but will bother others.
                                      Slowing down devices without letting people know or telling them why or giving them choice was also bad.
                                      They realized they did something wrong even with first X and they did have a chance to make it excuse for the price because it was for anniversary...
                                      But they chose the other path...
