The v30 was so good. And the camera ui is just amazing. Really stepped up battery life and display along with great dac.

If they would just use true flagship grade camera sensors and not skimp ram without price hiking an already over priced device then v30 can be special. But I don't see it happening.

So lame, what for? Marketing only.
Gone the innovation along with G2, too bad

This will be useful if it will work as intended. Since LG had some problems in the past and we all know it... it would be nice to see them rise again tho.

Awesome and useful Camera combo. If it lacked a notch, it would have been even better.

Likely a fake. The size of the lenses doesn't coincide with LG's official V40 teaser. The tele/wide lenses are larger than the ultra-wide lens!

Jatin999, 01 Oct 2018Still that pathetic 16mp 1 micron sensor. I was very excit... moreAt least make it 1.2 microns for that pr 24mp 1.1 even. But the g6 and v30 using 1micron sensors and lacking the large 1.4 um and dual photo diode tech of current flagships and midrangers.....
As well as the lack of ram and high price tag.
Of the v30 goes the same route it's just pathetic.

I hope LG will stop using 1/3" sensor on their $700++ phone.

Still that pathetic 16mp 1 micron sensor. I was very excited with the news of 12mp 1.4 micron sensor to be the main sensor but lg never fails to compromise with something

I hope to God they are flagship grade and sized sensors this time. Seriously

Love the phone and I'd be one of the first to buy one but adding about .5 inches to the height of the v30/35 is just too big of a phone. Bigger than the Note...no thanks.

Trouble with LG is that pictures and video look wash out, have watercolor feel. Any owner of V20 can confirm that and it's something you only find out when owning the device. Camera setup is brilliant, but if they are washed out and camera will become very slow after few months, then it's bad.

Seems an interesting camera set up for photography enthusiasts. A wideangle, ultrawide angle and telephoto combo for the rear camera would cover almost all everyday social, travel, people and portrait photography. The f/1.5 aperture is excellent for low light. A wideangle and ultrawide angle front camera combo would be nice also for solo selfies and group selfies too.

It wouldn't be complete though if the traditional manual photography/videography controls LG usually includes in its camera app (manual ISO, manual shutter speed, exposure compensation, manual focus) are not updated to include sliders for default contrast, sharpness, saturation and amount of noise reduction used. (Xiaomi phones have brightness, contrast, sharpness and saturation sliders in addition to being able to set manual ISO's and manual shutter speeds.) I need those slider controls because I find LG's sharpening, contrast and noise reduction in photos and videos to be too aggressive. The same updated manual controls for 4K video capture too would be a winner.

Throw in a 60fps 4K video option, Optical image and 4K video stabilization, dual sim, dedicated micro sd card slot and a huge 4000mAh or larger battery to compensate for increased usage of the smartphone as an enthusiast's photography and 4K videography tool, then those features just might be good enough compromise for LG's quality issues and other missing/dropped features which are:
                            1. The very likely screen retention of many batches to come (expected of LG's track record),
                            2. The lack of removable battery (LG has since abandoned it after the release of the V20),
                            3. The absence of an IR blaster (another LG abandoned feature) and
                            4. The expected non-existent/horrible android software and security updates (a known track record of LG).

Otherwise, if those additional features (at the very least, a bigger capacity 4000mAh battery, a 4K 60fps video with stabilization and updated manual controls, a dedicated micro sd card slot in addition to dual sim) don't materialize, then sorry LG, the V20 will be my last LG phone. You might as well stop producing smartphones since everything has been downhill and crippled since the V20.

5 cameras haha ugly add only two cameras

AnonD-468955, 01 Oct 2018I hope they price it right too but knowing LG, there is 99%... moreI mean, it's not like the prices stay high

Anyone know the wide angle selfie camera set up?
If they put another 5mp like V30 then LG will fail and become laughing stock for another year!

Anonymous, 01 Oct 2018I just hope the wide angle is again 135 degrees. The S10 ha... moreTelephoto at 8MP means better low light quality than a similar 12MP sensor due to less pixels but having those individuals being larger.
Paired with OIS and the telephoto camera will be fantastic. A 2x digital zoom from the main sensor will also lead to an 8MP image but no major loss in quality.
Wide angle at 12MP is good enough, but angle must be at least 120° for it to be considered as 'super wide.'

And this is to hope that all the sensors, at least 2 of them, are back to at least 1/2.5" in size, because the move to 1/3.6" sensors was probably one of the worst decisions they have made in their mobile department.

The S10 has the same setup, so they might start to compete to get the best camera's. I mean telephoto of 8 mp is still pretty bad, but guess it is so they can improve this in the V50 again... I mean cropping the 16 mp will still result in same image. They shouldvgivevus a 13 or 16 mp telephoto lense.
