Mi max 3 is launched and released with mui 9 so when I buy one this month when the real global version but we can never know but sellers just flash the global rom from an unsold chinese unit same with my mm2. i am not into tech but if i buy and it is a chinese version flashed with global rom like im tricked for instance. will my mm3 work if it is upgraded to miui10? or am I doomed? it is so hard to buy a real global version // like they advertised so much like global version but it isn't

Or they want to prevent Chinese people to install global rom on their devices and to have all Google services running on them?
The truth is that a lot of people will complain, but Xiaomi is one of the not so many companies that allows a lot of things to be done with their phones - unlocking bootloader, flashing custom roms etc.
Even if transition is not allowed, we will continue using their devices and nothing could change this - nice devices on a cheap price with great OS.

Good for one reason. This is as a result of these Chinese sellers flashing chinese mi max 3 with so called fake global ROM. and selling it to desperate people. Xiaomi is very angry about what has happened to MI MAX 3. BUT it is their fault. they launch a good phone for only China and neglect the rest people. why is it taking so long to launch mi max 3 worldwide?

Businessmen who import phones from China are now affected and this move might get their cauldron turned upside down.

Nice move by Xiaomi. I appreciate that, but please make your flagship worldwide. I don't see your current flagship hit my country, only crappy redmi with notch!

they didn't know that some bloatware can be uninstall and still i prefer to use China ROM because it is always supported by official miui.com and i believe Global ROM also got some bloatware which i didn't like...

Sounds like a good move.
People living outside of china should not have problem to pay few more bucks for a genuine same phone with global version.

They're doing this so their market share would increase on every country around the world where they sell their devices. Many take advantage of xiaomi's phones that are way cheaper in china and sell it on a gray market.

This is a clear move to make their foreign stores more profitable trying to avoid that people import the cheaper phones from China, so they charge you their bigger local employees salaries, plus local and import taxes... etc.

Seems like they use Anti Roll Back on Android 8 Xiaomi phones. Check it on Google/YouTube.

Since they're doing this now, they should also speed up roll out of their global versions more quickly. I'm still waiting on the mi max 3 global version.

I post there too... there's nothing new here, unlocking the bootloader is required... for a long time.
So, people, nothing's change. Unlock and flash whatever you want.

As long as the bootloader can be unlocked and Xiaomi.eu exists then it is not an issue. The best roms ever.

I don't really see a problem with it. But those who import from China might need to start importing from India or somewhere else I guess
