Should I watch stereo sound content/movies in portrait mode then?
Or should I listen to portrait video calls in stereo maybe?
A notch is more useful than that...and a notch is not usefull at all.

This is a CAD render, so fingers crossed. But if it's true, then it's perfect. Clean back, side FPS, minimal bezels, no notch, right angle screen corners, no curved edges. Perfect. I don't think this design is going to the trickle up to the XZ3/XZ4 flagships that are going to have curved screens and slippery backs. So I hope Sony miniaturises this design and releases an XA3 Compact. I know I hope too much. But still. BTW, I thought apart from whatever contractual issues regarding side FPS in the US, I thought it also compromised the rigidity of the frame. Or perhaps that's because it used to be integrated into the power button and now they are separate? Anyway, I know of rugged phones that have it on the side. And I hope Sony sticks to the side. Wish Sony also implement full screen gestures and eliminate the navigation bar/pill in their Pie.

-Stereo speakers (front facing)

From what I know, Verizon had an exclusive deal with Sony to bring the Z3v or a Z4, but Sony backed out. Somehow this deal and it going sour had a lot to do with that side FPS, disallowing Sony to sell anything in the US with a side FPS. Check out the Moto Z3 with the side FPS. Such patents or restrictions can only be held for limited time and we could assume that's why the side FPS is back. Sony has never given official reasons to why they disabled side FPS for US phones. So what you read here may not be exact.

Front looks good and dont care what the rear looks. Sucks that nobody other is doing same.
Will be over priced as usual anyways and 2 other reasons i dont like it is that it's 155mm tall.
Even tough my phone is 158mm at least it has round corner and it's easier to get out of the pocket if it fits in there. And second thing i dont like about Sony is that there phones weight are so much.

Ok Sony, bring back the Xperia Play with the new designs.
Now that Xperia Play with Snapdragon 710 would be extremely great to emulate PS2.

Sad that Sony has stopped releasing most of their smartphones in India. Was eagerly waiting for the Xperia XA2plus, looks like there is no sign of it releasing in India. Now, they are already gearing up for Xperia XA3 release.
Sony is the only major smartphone maker which is neglecting India, they got good fanbase here, their TV's sell a lot but i don't understand what happened to their smartphone business, they have completely neglected or given up. No release updates for any of their phones for the Indian market. I think i'll go for LGV30+, been waiting for XA2plus for more than 2 months, can't wait anymore, i give up. Bye Sony,

Even BOSE arent stated as top audio quatily ,they refer to it as good sound in a bad environment.
Closest thing to a cable headset imo is sonys 1000 XM2 using ldac and its still far from cable quality

This phone looks a lot like my old Smartisan Nut Pro 2
And that phone was super compact for a 5.9" 2:1 screen and it measured 73.36x154.36 and it had virtually no side bezels
