Got every Samsung Phone until S8 and every Sony until XZ1 (XZ1 was last bought), and every Apple until SE (SE 128gb bought) and the all new versions are really main eye candy, but very few optionality, in my opinion.

Apple already have the fixes out there, in such short period of time. How long does it take Google to fix the Pixel charging issue? That's the problem with Android. Slow response time not only from 3rd party phone makers, but also Google itself.

So trolling is just for haters. Likewise with pixel and the new iphones the issues are minor and get fixed pretty quick

My comment was simply in response to people saying "durr hurr hurr take that Android," which is a crappy attitude. I'd be just as critical of people doing the same thing about iPhone. They pretty much all have issues at launch. The only thing I find hilarious is when people/companies praise their device as the Second Coming. They're tools, not religions. LOL

And the phone does still charges. Also the pixel at launch was priced very high. Don't forget the multiple issues with the pixel 2 when it was released last year. Samsung s8,s9,note 9 all dealt with issues at launch too. So yes all these expensive devices had issues too.

perfectworld, 02 Oct 2018I had the charging issues but I also had all of the connect... more[Update] It did not change a damn thing. The USBA to USBC cable plugged into a laptop charges the device same as it has since Pie was installed. It says just "charging" with that one. The original one that came with it (w/9V rail) works if I turn the phone off then plug it in, wait for the charge symbol, then turn it on and it will charge. Just plug it in with it on and it doesn't recognize it. I have a Verizon wall charger too and using that method last weekend it tried to charge, I got about 10% in it and it quit. My Asus flip S charger has a 9V rail at 3A and it used to work fine, charged rapidly, etc. Now it is not recognized at all even with the phone off. This really sucks.

I had the charging issues but I also had all of the connection choices when connected to a computer were greyed out. I was in the middle of testing 4K streaming using my unlimited ATT plan at work. I sent it to IbreakUfixit, google's 3rd party repair service to fix it and paid ~$100 after they changed the daughter board/port. They said it was fixed. Not. I found I could get the tether option in the greyed out list to still work by going to Hotspot/Tethering section though. Still no connectivity for file transfer. I tried the Bluetooth transfer and that worked but you need a tutorial in front of you to do it a second time. They said they would roll back the SW for free but being without my phone was too painful. Now I see this update, we'll see. It is installing.

I wonder if they'll fix the charging cable/charging issues for the Pixel 2 XL (maybe also 2 but didn't hear of that) just before the Pixel 4 announcement too... that's a shame from Google's end that it took them so long without giving any explanation to their users whatsoever.

As well, even with the Pixels charging slowly, they're still charging at the same speed as the iPhone do today since apple doesn't include a fast charger in the box. LOL

With the iPhone XS/XS Max people had plugged in their phones, only to come back and discover it hadn't charged. This is more of an annoyance for Pixel users, and even with them charging slowly, they were still charging at the same rate as the iPhone XS/XS Max do at full speed, because Apple doesn't include a fast charger. LOL
