Crackling Doom, 04 Oct 2018I wouldn't. With a 3.5mm headphone jack, you just plug in y... moreAnd probably more battery usage too.

Kangal, 04 Oct 2018I want to ask a genuine question to people who say "no jack... moreI wouldn't. With a 3.5mm headphone jack, you just plug in your headphones and off you go. With an additional USB port, you need an additional accessory (in this case, a dongle) which is more work and more things one would have to carry around in order to enjoy the benefit of content consumption.

Why would I accept a 2 step process when a 1 step process is more convenient? It's like asking someone to buy gas at one gas station and pay for it at a completely different gas station. It's redundant.

At best 2 years, after that the battery of the Bluetooth headphone will die making the headphone unusable. Do you see why they are pushing for bluetooth headphones? And here this guy is just lying.

Kangal, 04 Oct 2018I want to ask a genuine question to people who say "no jack... more2 usb ports would be a decent option, but i,d still chose the 3.5mm option. I need the 3.5mm jack for my car audio too, so i'd have to buy additional dongle (It would be too impracrical to constantly switch it between my phones and car aux). Plus, usb is fragile and is just not a good idea to use it while phone is in your pocket/bag, could easily get damaged - it was never designed for that purpose, while 3.5mm jack was.

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2018Bullshit. Won't even read it. No jack, no buy, i don't care... moreI want to ask a genuine question to people who say "no jack = no buy".

Let's say I was designing a new phone, and it was competitive/ticked the boxes, BUT I removed the jack AND replaced it with an extra USB-C port, would that be sufficient?

Basically you can listen and charge at the same time. A converter dongle would be included in the box for free. And the two USB-C ports together would offer you greater flexibility, like Screen Sharing and Fast Charging, or External HDD connection plus Wired K/Mouse.

So my question is, if you had the choice, would you choose a phone with Aux+USB-C or a phone with USB-C + USB-C ?

              Thanks in advance!

AnonD-731363, 03 Oct 2018Well rather have fingerprint reader under display than a pi... more3.5mm jack is not obsolete and even most expensive Bluetooth headphones sound worse or merely same as the wired ones. Most of the fanboys of the 3.5mm jack removal has no clear idea what convenience means. No one forbids you to buy a Bluetooth headset if you want but anyday i would prefer wired ones. I have a Sennheiser cans and haven't found any common Bluetooth headphone to sound like that.

Even aptX HD, via Bluetooth, sounds much inferior to the sound that I would get through a normal headphone jack. In some phones when the jack supports 32-bit audio, it is magnificent and Bluetooth presently does not have the technology to match it. OnePlus is going to lose a lot of customers due to this feature becoming absent and I’m sure they are going to bring it back in a future version.

INo matter how many sites will you check most of them claims theses are best in 2018. Compared to that anything with cord is good for bin.
People with decent taste for music use wireless. Noone wants to looks like a christmas tree filled with cables. So again please jack is past its an ancient technology with no future.
Before 2000 cords and cables had sense but now is everything making wireless.
Even your TV, Hifi, PC, Refridgerator or Oven will be wireless in few years.

Complete nonsense, and a blatant lie. It has nothing to do with the haptic feedback engine, you can simply put the headphone jack on the top of the device without compromising space for the feedback engine at the bottom. Oneplus doesnt have any power over the design process, Oppo controls it. In other words, Oneplus CEO has no power over what hardware goes on or the design of the phone, he just comes up with lies just like he did when they put on a notch in the Oneplus 6.

The function of both (fingerprint and jack) are COMPLETELY different. So how can a product manager say that you will love it? I mean.. will the fingerprint do the job of the jack? or will it produce impeccable sound? Am i confused? or am i confused?
