People already have wired headphones, and won't stop using them. Other than phones, they are used with laptops, PC, and all kinds of audio equipment. Higher end headphones can get ridiculously expensive, so I don't expect anyone to just throw them away. Instead of switching to wireless, many people will just keep buying phones with headphone jacks, or at least use adapters. I wouldn't expect wired headphones to just go away.

I only stopped buying phones with removable batteries when this feature only remained in lowest range phones. I'd do the same with the headphone jack and will rather buy a $200 phone with the jack than a flagship without the jack.
No compromises until it dissapears from the mid-rangers too. If people were like me, companies wouldn't constantly cripple their product and try to figure out more ways to screw their customers.

They didn't have a microSD card slot and .. some people were okay with this. now they even removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack! .. i don't get what's the point of buying from this brand anymore?! it's all compromises and no gain at all.. you still gonna spend +$500 for this. i'd get an older iPhone better in every way if i'm cool with losing cheap external storage and headphone jack.

I really wish oneplus would become history like the pyramids.
I never understood their appeal, I never considered their phones to be flagships as compared to real flagships, their phones lacked 2k screens, until recently top class cameras, and waterproofing.
I always felt like whatever the founder is called is a deceptive faux populist. Events such as including a notch, and removing the headphone jack have shown how much he really values public opinion.
Unfortunately they do have a die hard following and their parent company Oppo will keep them afloat if they ever go in the red.

Honestly, they should've just kept the fingerprint sensor on the back and kept the headphone jack. Then they could have just added wireless charging.

They are making a big deal out of something so basic. It's still just a fingerprint sensor. It still does the same thing as traditional fingerprint sensors.
They know the 6T isn't really better than the 6, so they're hyping small things to get peoples attention.
