    AnonD-13986, 08 Nov 2011Mark, not just listen to music, videos can play in backgrou... moreOn my S2 I can have two, or more, movies running at the same time without having to pause the ones in the background, if I want to! Pausing the movies in the background is not really any multitasking at all, and this can easily be done on my S2 and most other Androids... Ofcourse most people do not want to watch two movioes at the same time, but Android have no problem with this or any other real multitasking!

      AnonD-13986, 08 Nov 2011Mark, not just listen to music, videos can play in backgrou... moreOk, but what is so special about it? N9 can do all of that already. I just don't see the benefit of Android over this in that respect? I mean, I think the N9 has your use case down better than Android, because if the multitasking UI letting you jump between video's and webpages individually, whereas in Android you have to go through the browser icon first to get to the window you need.

      Face it, N9 UI is superior to Android, runs smoother even on this single core and is a heck of a lot prettier too, just like the device. It has less apps though, but I and many others simply don't care.

        Mark, 08 Nov 2011Stop lying TC. I have one right in front of me, it is my si... moreI think you still are a liar pretending "your sister" have an S2!
        S2 have one of the best batterylifes of all smartphones today, and not even any Laptop have can last longer then S2 when constantly streaming HD-movies or constantly playing HD-games. If you only use S2 as a phone, for sms and phonescalls then it last just as long as any old Nokia, and S2 definetly have a lot better batterylife than my outdated N97 mini!
        S2 have real multitasking, and "preventive" multitasking is just not multitasking at all, and N9 can not even play any movie in the background without pausing it, and N9 can definatly not stream full HD Flash movies in the browser... Your old C7, or N9, can definetly not listen to music from flash-pages like Grooveshark in any webbrowser and definetly not at gthe same time as streaming a HD-movie and editing Office-documents and at the same time play a HD game! The rubberized plastic backcover is extremly flexible and and almost impossible to break! The S2 design is perfect,but N9 have very uncomfortable sharp, painful, corners! Android does not lag at all on S2! The swipe-gesture to move to the home-screen on N9 is very often a b ig problem because the user often moves to the homescreen by accident!

          Mark, 08 Nov 2011Stop lying TC. I have one right in front of me, it is my si... moreMark, not just listen to music, videos can play in background if using Open Video Player(beta). Now can watch 2 videos, one on the stock player, one with Open video, esp with those music videos from youtube. Watch one, pause the other, then go back to where I left off the 1st one without having to search for it.
          And of course browse a few websites at the same time,lol.

                      GSMArena, this is a probaby a silly question, but when I eventually buy an N9(I live in America, but have friends in some of the countries that will get the N9 ), will I still be able to install updates whist in America?

                        Seriously, I'm a droid user, I like android for it's customization. For me, this damn phone ( the N9 ) is really a good phone, battery wise, user wise, OS wise. In long run, Nokia really should provide more support for N9.

                        I Can't wait for mine to arrive, my sister pre-order the white one. just wait for her to return from overseas for it.

                            [deleted post]Yes, HTC build quality is better than Samsung. I think HTC is the best Android brand.

                            It should be really this

                            Want iOS --> Apple
                            Want Android --> HTC
                            Want Symbian, MeeGo, WP --> Nokia

                                AnonD-252, 08 Nov 2011Liar! S2 have far better multitasking than N9, I can strea... moreStop lying TC. I have one right in front of me, it is my sister's device. I actually told her to get it, because of the big screen, and because she does not really use it as a smartphone. Which is fitting, because using it as a smartphone would kill the battery in a few hours.

                                Do you want to pretend that is not true?

                                You don't have any real preventive actual multitasking, and the multitasking UI is a joke.

                                Do you seriously want to say those pop up icons are a match for N9 multitasking?

                                So you say you can listen to music, and browse, and do other stuff at the same time?

                                So what, even my old C7 can do that. N9 can do that. Where is the benefit?

                                So the GS2 is made of extremely cheap plastic, in fact, the back cover is so flimsy I have to careful when I snap it on. Plus, it's design is bland, stolen, and unimaginative.

                                Do you want to pretend the N9 suffers from the same issues? It is the most beautiful phone on the planet currently.

                                You know what, don't take my word on it, take it from a pro, a guy that does not even like Nokia.

                                N9 - 7,9 score

                                GS2 - 7,5.

                                Android on GS2 is still laggy and buggy. SWIPE UI on N9 is smooth like butter.

                                Most importantly. no more stupid buttons on the front, of which you have 3 on the GS2.

                                Nuff said.

                                  It seems to have become a trend. Any other company releases any new phone/update, and all sammy fans are pissed!

                                        It's good that Nokia is still rolling out its planned improvements for Meego. Kinda assures Nokia N9 buyers that their would still get better in the long run.
