They could've at least had dual rear cameras on the Pixel 3 XL (wide angle is the best option for this, then monochrome that actually works, then telephoto).

    -SD835 is still fast
-It has Carl Zeiss Optics camera, and proven to be a great shooter
    -5.5" QHD 16:9 P-OLED display
    -Also rated as IP68

Google's algorithm has always been more contrast-y. It definitely is superior to the iPhone's. Apple hasn't really excelled in camera for 3-4 years now. Samsung surpassed them in 2015. Google surpassed them all by 2016.

Google can probably get away with a single rear camera for another year. But if many will have three-lens by next year including the Galaxy S10, the Pixel 4 better have another eyeball. This better be the final time a Pixel will have that design and only have one camera lens on the back.

Whackcar, 06 Oct 2018The difference between those two street images is huge. iPh... moreNot to criticize the Pixel 3's camera (it's fantastic and better than many), but iPhone cameras are pretty easy to beat actually. Even my Redmi 5 Plus with Google Camera can compete easily, sometimes even beat, the Xs Max's camera.
The real challenge for the Pixel 3's camera is to be compared to the current smartphone camera kings (P20 Pro, upcoming Mate 20/Pro, S9/S9+/Note 9, XZ2/XZ2 Compact/XZ3, XZ2 Premium, U12+, etc.) and it will definitely have a hard time to shine in probably the only department where it's great.

But I agree that Pixel 3 isn't stand out that much.

There is so much scope for Google to offer a mid ranger and make money off it - people want the Nexus back - maybe Nokia will have to offer this.

MadMel, 06 Oct 2018so price will be 870€ in Europe? That's sales, as long as Warren Buffet doesn't find the Pixel 3/XL is 'enormously underpriced'.

Duel83, 06 Oct 2018How did they get that bad photo from XS Max, it's propably ... moreExactly. iPhone XS never overexposes in low light situations and even when it messes up exposure it always underexposes the scenes. It is clear that the reviewer intentionally cranked up the exposure slider on iPhone to make Pixel 3's photos look better.

AnonD-632062, 06 Oct 2018It will have a great camera, that's for sure. Unfortunately... moreYes, a great camera. But it's not the only flagship this year with such a compelling camera.
Being a single shooter means it will most likely be compared to both Galaxy S9 and Xperia XZ2/XZ3's cams, and they already have the advantage of taking 720p@960fps super slow motion videos (XZ2/XZ3 even going up to 1080p).
Even with a great camera, this phone won't be able to stand out and be convincing enough to people. Not even timely updates could save this, because other OEMs already have Android One devices, which are just a little later to receive updates from Google themselves. Even non-Android One devices like Sony and HTC phones still get timely updates.

I wonder how the mate 20 will compare to this

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2018If you say you love the notch, you'd better you see a doctorMy gosh is that cr*p principle of yours!
One needs to find a doctor for simply loving something you don't even like, like WTF?!
I wish you are just really being sarcastic, but I pity you for having such a narrow mind....
I hope you're not like this in real life. I worry about your love life, that you may end up having no one for the rest of your life with that kind of attitude. May your soul be blessed and have a great day!

How did they get that bad photo from XS Max, it's propably worst photo i've seen from that phone. It looks like they raised the brightness manually to make it look way too bright and lot worse than pixel

XS is known for great smart HDR offering great dynamics and balanced photos, you can't see anything about that in the photo.

XS doesn't burn photos like that

If you don't mind the huge notch on the XL, then go for it. Otherwise go for the smaller one.

I liked the size of iPhone X, because it's still handy while having a great and big display.
Google Pixel 3 non-XL will be the same, if not even more compact than iPhone X.

In the past I used to say something 5.0" and 5.3" is perfect. Nowadays, thanks to thin bezels, 5.5" to 5.8" is the sweetspot.

And, because there's no other alternative to the pixel 3 when it comes to handy size AND top-notch performance, its going to be quite popular.

Image stacking(averaging) only one technology which reduced image noise but retain all details...that is why google pixel 2 , 3 easily beat iPhone camera in terms of image details

so price will be 870€ in Europe?
