The four cams are standard, ultra-wide, tele and depth sensor. Basically, the A7 with an extra cam, along with a larger screen and battery.

Overall, a gimmicky camera smartphone but it's promising phone to say cause maybe one of the S10 series will use this one.

i am not a physicist nor a photographer, but i could understand the need for several cameras. smartphone cameras are limited that they have to have specific functions and so would require several optics when cramming photography features. the culprit would be the oem's preceived customer need for thinner and thinner smartphones. light needs room to travel and only proper cameras can do that, with its variable aperture and focal length. yes, software can do wonders as demonstrated by google in their pixel phones, but then there is no better alternative to the real information for specific feature provided by the camera with that specific function. yes again, the information from those several camera are stitched into the final picture ultimately by software, but at least the software had the actual information it needed to stitch into the picture and not have to apply algorithm to alter a single information coming from a single camera. see, in photography it is better to take several pictures with different settings/effects than take a single picture and edit it to the desired effect; that's what software do when you only have one camera- take one picture and edit it to the desired effect. remember the light camera- the one with 16 lenses in one body? that could be where we are headed if we, customers, require dslr-like photography in our smartphones.

Sorry, but this is nothing but gimmicky.

If you need to have 4 rear cameras to achieve what 1 or 2 can do, then it's obvious that your hardware and/or software sucks badly. Just look at Google Pixel series, all they need is one rear camera to do things what 2 or 3 cameras can do.

To be honest,am not very sure even for the main cam,it very well couldve been Samsung again.

This is getting out of hands. What is the point of depth sensor when there are literally three other sensors?

The cameras is probably the only section where mid-ranges are truly behind flagships. If they start putting flagship grade cameras on mid-rangers, then most people would stop buying flagships...

Aside from cameras, mid-rangers these days are very good for everyday use. They may lag behind in benchmarks, but they perform absolutely fine in real-world performance. These days they come in premium designs and glass/metal builds too, and with additional features like a headphone jack, SD slot, etc... You get what I'm saying.

Why they used Snapdragon 660 instead of Snapdragon 845? SD 800-series has much better ISP than 600-series.

Pocophone is much cheaper and it has SD845.
