r33fd, 19 Oct 2018What a coincidence! I am still using a note 4 as well. Bes... moreYeah but have to admit Note 4 is just not good enough for 2018 when it comes to battery endurance. The stock battery or even slightly better AKKU Polarcell battery can get me tops 4 hrs and 40mins to 5hrs with 1% left in 16hrs of heavy use over 3G. Today phones like Poco F1 can get your 8-9hrs sometimes 10hrs of screen on-time on all day use over 4G/LTE.

Note 4's 4G/LTE endurance is just trash that it's sad, fortunately extended battery saves the day, Note 4's biggest plus over every other phone out there. That's how I can get to keep that great AMOLED screen while still being on 4G/LTE all day long with heavy usage. Extended battery has it's issues with properly getting read of its true capacity, forcing me to do battery pulls after 4-5 hrs of SoT to get the remaining bulk of charge 2 times more but atleast I don't have to wait for the battery to be charged by a power bank.

I am still using a note 4 as well. Best phone ever made imo.
I disabled all the boat and moving quite decent for me.
Never had any problems with it in 3 years, except for ir blaster that sadly isn't working any more. I think I was lucky to buy an exynoss version.

I keep an eye on OnePlus for when the note will finally give up, but I don't think that's happening any time soon :)

r33fd, 11 Oct 2018Totally agree with you man! Just recently a friend of mi... moreYes same reason why I DIY replaced the motherboard on a Note 4 and made it working again with Polarcell AKKU battery. It's working better than ever now. Poco F1 might be worth it if the XDA community gets the sources to work on the drivers and use it to make Stock Android ROMs in the future, preferably Lineage OS Officially, as it is the only phone with easy access to the battery pack without nasty glue. Or maybe a device will come along with all the plus points of Poco F1 with AMOLED screen and if that has XDA supported ROMs/lineage OS then that would be the phone I would really consider until then I will hold on to the Note 4 as nothing exists today that is really worth shifting to. I am keeping my on the Mote 20 X, if it gets Lineage OS officially maybe worth considering but a tear down review is pending. Will not use Chinese garbage UIs even if the Phone's given for free.

Just recently a friend of mine was considering changing his old galaxy s5 for something newer simply because the battery was horrible. But after taking my advice and trying a new battery he feels much better and will probably hold his phone for another year or so since he does not require very much and even the old s5 can suffice most tasks.
