r33fd, 10 Oct 2018Why would they make the battery smaller ? I see no logic... moreThe logic is simple: Planned obsolescence

Many components within the phones these days have MTBFs much closer to just 36 months, only the SoC will outlast everything on the PCB.

How else can they force you to upgrade more often? The only way to stop this cancerous trend is to have govts enforcing strict zero tolerance regulations. Smartphones and wireless accessories have started accumulating way too much e-waste in the 2-3 years and the problem is about to get worse with this use and throw mindset companies want to force on the public.

SpiritWolf, 11 Oct 2018Nokia phones (well, most of them) were premium. Haven't see... moreTrue. It's not the old Nokia that I was waiting for their huge comeback. Trash cameras, mid to low specs on a high price (Samsung inspiring pricing), and HMD Global.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2018Didn't know Nokia HMD was Chinese. I though it was Finnish.Money talks. You can register your company where you want, nowadays.

Geric.770, 11 Oct 2018This should be expensive. And premium as well.Nokia phones (well, most of them) were premium. Haven't seen anything premium in HMD Global garbage so far. What the heck should i do with good build quality if it doesn't contain anything built? Especially those 'cameras'. As i have stated before, my N82 snaps better pics than majority of HMD 'phones'. Go back to Symbian/MeeGo, put some useful cameras on your phones and then, maybe, we can talk. (And then, maybe, i will believe HMD isn't Chinese company milking Nokia brand and nostalgy.)

            This should be expensive.
            And premium as well.

I heard there were some stability issues on Pie it's why some companies are opting to stay with Oreo xD

ShockieUK, 10 Oct 2018Nothing wrong with Oreo but would have been better if laun... moreIn the 7.1 launch article was written "it gets pie PLUS two major updates". So I think this will be the same for the 7.1 Plus...also getting Android R in 2020.

I already forgot the name of the device they lauched last week. Wasn't that 7.1 Plus? Just goes to show their naming scheme is a total joke.

NOKIA 7.1 plus with 710 chip should be good.

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018What's wrong with Oreo? it is stable though. Nothing wrong with Oreo
but would have been better if launched with Pie for future proofing.
Nokia phones get two major updates,
So android Q will be last update
but if this phone launched with PIE Android R would been last update.

If Nokia does not launch this phone in the United States, I will be very disappointed. The regular 7.1 is not good
