[deleted post]To be fair, the N8 has plenty of battery draining apps with widgets. Gravity for twitter and Social for FB and Whatsapp can use up battery life faster. I've not tried the same apps or equivalents on the SGS2 yet, but I'm guessing that results should be similar.

AnonD-10525, 12 Nov 2011I get 2 days on my N8 without having to go buy a larger bat... moreAll tablets have 8-10 hours battery life so I'm not sure what the point of throwing in tablets is. And its god that you get 2-3 days of battery life with the N-8. But with the lack of apps, I can't imagine what you actually do with it over those 3 days besides'take pictures. I think the N8 is a pretty good device, but the OS is simplistic and is the reason for its solid battery life.

Many sites were posting information stating the glass was gorilla glass. So, nope. I was not wrong... these other sites were. Lens Technology makes their display glass.

The only Nokia I can ever remember owning is the one I currently use. The N8. And I bought it because of its camera, not because of Symbian. So I only have experience with this ONE device. It has great build quality and great battery life to go along with the camera. The OS is pretty boring but Anna gave it some performance enhancements. But after the lackluster performance I had with Android... I'll take this nice boring Symbian device any day.

I already stated quite clearly that I am in no way a Nokia fanboy. And its clearly an opinion that you are stating about Symbian. Its certainly not dead if I just upgraded to Anna and will probably soon be able to upgrade to Belle. Its much more efficient than Android by far and packs about the same feature list without all of the bells and whistles. Just because something doesn't sell as well doesn't' mean it is less capable.

But where its a standard feature in android phones to drain battery life... in an i-device its not. And Apple is working to get battery life back to where it should be. However - I haven't experienced any battery problems, nor has anyone else I know. Guess its an isolated incident.

For those of you having battery problems try downloading 'boost magic' (a free app) and run it to see how long have they left with the battery. I know its not a solution but it will at least give you an estimate for how long your phone will be usable.
