Why Huawei's NM cards mean you don't get to expand the Mate 20 storage

Let's look at the possibilities of NM cards becoming a trend and why that won't happen anytime soon.

    LIES !!!!
Dont believe in those MicroSD speeds.
    ..
    I have
Samsung EVO Plus 128 GB MicroSd card.
    And it reaches
39 MB write and 59 MB reading speeds in Samsung Note 8,
and even lower ones on my Samsung notebook.
    ..
P.S: It is bought from Samsung own website and it is original.

Apple could get away with that stupid proprietary port, because, it is Apple. Why do these brands consider themselves like Apple.
Agreed, Huawei is the No. 2 brand, but how much of that's got to do with their Mate lineup (or P lineup as well, which will probably include the same slot).
Bringing proprietory parts which don't add anything, except adding to the OEMs profits, is just an Apple thing. Other brands won't be able to get away with it.

If it was Apple doing it, I know exactly what kind of reactions it would receive here..

I'm fond of this "Nano memory card" thingy. I hope it works out. It's nice to have memory cards that are as small as sim cards. I just kind of loathe that it takes time to implement this new idea.

Article is very true. The NM card is just more planned obsolescence and greed (just like removing the versatile 3.5 mm headphone jack). They could have made it in similar dimensions to the microSD card, but no, they had to force their decisions on the customer. Disgusting tactic.

Check this out. Samsung designed a hybrid slot that can take both UFS cards and microSD card slot. Now that's how you treat the customer as king and give them the choice. No wonder Samsung phones have not removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack too, until now.

I'm in an anti-new standard school. Before micro sd card was born card standard was a mess. Micro sd card solve all problems. AND I think phone company shold make phone 1-3mm thicker for micro sd card, 3.5mm, bigger camera lens and more battery.

Bottom line is "Early adopters will suffer". Good luck to those people as for me i won't be part of any kind of experimentation.
