All the photos seem to have a slight motion blur. Who took the photos? He or she doesn't have very stable hands. Plus the sky has some kind of suspended particles in all but the night shot. What city is this filled with smog and other kinds of pollution?
I wish you would compare it with the P20 Pro in an environment relatively free from all this pollution.
Thanks gsmarena. You guys have some great reviews.

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2018Sorry. Its not REAL 5X zoom. Even my 8 year old 4.5x zoom c... more80mm / 16mm = 5, so it is REAL 5x. The camera you refer to may have a 35-155 zoom, so the end point (155mm) is "double the zoom" that the telephoto of the Mate 20 Pro (80mm), but so is the starting point (35mm vs 16mm).

It is like if you could set different E.V for each part of the photo. The sky remains blue like a - 0.7 E.V but lower part of the frame ( landscape) is brighter like + 0.7 E.V.

Well, all shots are 8MP.
With this resolution they were supposed to look nicer.
Can we have the 40MP ones, please?

sky is still white when there is too much light.
I would have loved to see something similar to google's hdr+. I don't know what magic they do but the sky is always blue and pretty much every highlight is preserved.
Huawei has superior sensor so it should give even better pictures but the software needs work too.

SpiritWolf, 17 Oct 2018Someone has to be blind indeed.
808 has 41mp (38mp effe... moreBlind test is the most ridiculous thing ever.
1) people only care about colours. Just a few phones can capture scene with less wrongly WB. This list does not includes IPhones nor Galaxy.
2) people will always choose the bright photos, no matter if they are much brighter than reality. Mainly in low light because that brightness comes from higher ISO, something many phones can't handle when it pass 300.
3) people love photos with more contrast and saturation than reality, which is pretty weird if we consider that the world we see with our eyes has no saturated/punchy colours.
4) most of the sites do not post full sized pics. Some do but they do not adjust distance between phone and subject, so people find out which phone every photo belongs to by focal length.
5) people believe youtubers ( funniest part) . I laugh when I hear them drool over photos with too much contrast, saturation and oversharpening ( Korean brands love this). Even worse the fact there is no way for you to know if the samples come indeed from those phones, no EXIF data to make sure wrong settings were not chosen on purpose to make A better or worse than B.
6) people vote for favorite brands when they find out the photos that belongs to that phone.
In 2010 I got a pocket Kodak. It has 12MP 1/2.3".
I don't know when this model was created, but it give similar results achieved by flagships like S5, G2, Z2.
Even with lower resolution, the much bigger sensors give advantage. There are cameras that still have 12MP only, but are FF.

808 has 41mp (38mp effective) 1/1,2" sensor. Enough to beat few DSLRs in good light. And it did. Even today there isn't cellphone camera that can capture as much detail in good light as 808. And You telling me, that some 4mp 30 years old DSLR can?

A DSLR made 30 years ago can humiliate any cellphone.
Even those 1" Sony RX100 series is miles ahead of cellphones.
Imagine a camera with 35mm diagonal sensor..
