Nah, it's coming from oversharpening. XZ3 still applies hefty amount of NR to its image, but then tries to sharpen up everything to emphasise details(which turns out to be really destructive).

    Uhh, no, it's fairly decent. And it's always good to have the option for the highest quality video.

    Which is only compatible with Sony's own smartphones. I played XZ2's HDR video on my Macbook Pro 13 inch and Mate 10 Pro before, the colours are desaturated and contrast was horrible on both.

    XZ3 doesn't have a good quality lens, it's very much prone to lens flare and occasionally shows green cast in the shadow area in the image because of that.
    And Note 9 provides a headphone jack with decent DAC inside. XZ3 doesn't.

      It's great that this phone has an OLED display.

      However, the lack of a 3.5 mm jack is a huge deal-breaker. It is pretty sad that a traditional company like Sony that still provides a dedicated camera button would omit such a crucial thing like the 3.5 mm jack.

        Meanwhile, the Asian variant (H9493) with 6GB RAM is selling for just $799. A much better buy.

            All of these flagships and even middle ranger have lots of features nobody every use. But well it's still feels good to over pay for something just cause it has features on it that nobody want or care these are on there.

            I for one have recorded few videos but i never go with the highest resolution and the most fps on it just cause it all takes more space. Take one minutte video and it's something 1-2GB in size or even more.

                            XZ3's single shooter is basically a better version of Pixel 3 XL's camera.

                            More RAM is better? Where's my 512GBR RAM phone?
                            A perfectly optimized 4GB RAM is better than a cluttered 6 or 8GB RAM!
                            Just imagine, the Note 9 with 8GB RAM still loses to the XZ3 with 4GB RAM in speed tests, so what if the XZ3 also gets 8GB RAM?? Total destruction??

                            Kirin 980 is indeed better, but GPU of SD845 is still better, and that would matter more in pure performance aspect, as CPU is pretty much inevitable since SD820 days.


                            Don't forget the XZ3's QHD+ HDR display with NO NOTCH.
                            Reviewers on YouTube has always been falling in love with its beauty, and seeing it side-by-side with Note 9 and iPhone Xs Max shows how much better the display is.
                            If the Mate 20's display isn't anything on par with these two, then I doubt it would beat the XZ3's display, not even being on par with it!

                                  Noise is present because of little to no noise reduction done to the image. At normal magnification levels, it's not noticeable, but the superior image clarity is definitely noticeable on any screens. I'm not yet talking about color accuracy; the XZ3 doesn't loose any saturation even in low light!

                                  With the removal of headphone jack, I was also disappointed as a Sony fan, but with them, they offer great quality BT headsets that almost rival the proper 3.5mm wired devices.
                                  How about Samsung also dropping the jack?? Oh, it's okay because it's Samsung! Right?!

                                  Any modern day phone no longer has FM Radio, but even if one still had one, the average users would find no reason to use them. In the case of disaster, every towns in every cities will provide a large radio for everyone, and such phenomena in life would barely be happening (it's not like there's a calamity everyday).


                                  The next time you speak something, you at least try to make sure that you have read everything about it before you even tried to talk about it. XZ3 has stereo speakers. As easy information as that, yet you're not aware of it?? Have you really tried using a XZ3?? Or even any Xperia in the past? If not, then kindly.......SHUT UP! Thanks!

                                    How about taking multiple pictures even before the user decides to take a picture? Yeah the XZ3 CAN do that, but can your Note 9 do it??

                                    Forget 4K@60fps, stabilization is horribly bad there, and 60fps is still available on the XZ3 in 1080p (not really too much loss in quality).
                                    What about taking a video that would easily make great use of the phone's beautiful QHD+ HDR display??

                                    Variable aperture?? Pffftt what?! Note 9 at f/2.4 in daylight is barely any sharper than its f/1.5 counterpart. It gives off no difference, except the corner sharpness (which could be fixed by using higher quality lens, in which the XZ3 also has a better one).

                                    XZ3 has stereo speakers. Having you not even know about simple things like this only goes to show how little do you know about Xperia devices. So I suggest you keep your dinky mouth shut unless you really know everything already.
