Then was multimedia beast. Now Huawei has this title plus battery Beast . And as for the battery what can someone said? ( Simply endless battery) not like the Samsung who does not last not even one day. Samsung Technisians has stayed in the 2014, when the other companies have made the transition to 2018 - to 2019 ( Flagships Mate pro 2 4200mAh Battery and Mate x 5000mAh battery).

The only thing making it different is the 3.5mm headphone jack, the rest of it is average, I mean almost every high end phone today has a big oled screen and great speakers.

One of my first touchscreen phones was the omnia mk1 then I moved around htc and things like Nokia 5800 which I loved , but my omnia was the first phone I truly enjoyed using, used custom roms on, generally just had fun using.

AnonD-415644, 21 Oct 2018I still remember the good old days when everyone was crazy ... moreIf I see an amoled screen with LCD together I think LCD is better. the amoled screen is slightly bluish if the color is white, and when it's red and green blue I can't see it for long because the contrast is so strong. You can prove this yourself if you have 2 cellphones, LCD and amoled. I compared it to Galaxy A6 2018 with Redmi Note 4x

Great Article. Samsung has always had a rich history, especially in multimedia.
I don't think it is any coincidence, that their latest flagships, the S9+ and the Note 9 happen to be one of the best, if not THE best devices for multimedia consumption.
Just see the features:
1) Loud Clear Stereo speakers.
2) Almost perfect Audio Quality even through headphones with little noise
3) The all-important 3.5 mm headphone jack, with Premium $99 AKG earphones being bundled in the box (unlike some iFruit makers)
4) Super AMOLED screen with 3K resolution and pin sharp pixel density.
5) Great brightness range, sunlit legibility and excellent contrast ratio.
6) And last but not the least, no ugly intrusive screen notch, so that you a get a true rectangular full-screen effect for video.

Samsung is always an innovative one considering good old days.
The problem nowadays is that since the absence of any physical buttons in the front side of the phones it is literally impossible to show innovative design except for infinity display.
All Samsung mobiles looks very same now. As the rumour claims there will be new design for S10 we might see some new design language for the following couple of years.

Samsung has always delivered some good Phones... Before Android they had some solid built Phones, with so many options...

I still remember the good old days when everyone was crazy to see OLED displays because they were so good. My uncle had Samsung Windows phone and it had an Amoled display and because the whole Windows phone UI was black, it felt so amazing to use that phone.
...
When Samsung Galaxy S2 was launched, oh boy, it was such an amazing looking phone. I miss those days.

LOL, I'm really that old enough to realize how far we had been from the Samsung Omnia days to present ? I did remember the original Samsung Omnia very well that my mother used to be her daily driver for 3 years before migrated to Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro due the Omnia started to slow down after 3 years. Still, she was quite happy using the Omnia, still keep it on the cupboard, and I did had a experience too using the Omnia as well with some games on it, moveable widgets and etc. Not perfect but enjoyable. Samsung Galaxy from original one to Note9 did a great job bringing couple of multimedia cues from the Omnia days, although, I really love my Sony Ericsson and Sony Xperia phones.

i miss the old times, they are really a wow in terms of looks and innovative, each line up had its own unique design. now all phones are boring.

A lot of ignorant and non-Samsung brand fanatics might whine about the Samsung skins, but the truth is that a lot of Android features over the years have just copied Samsung's. Samsung's phone are such so much the complete package.
Even things like the push towards larger screens, more RAM, making in-house SoCs, OLEDs, higher Pixel Densities, way brighter screens, brighter lenses for cameras, larger pixels foe smartphone sensors, etc are things that have essentially come about due to the aggressive pushing by Samsung on its own devices.
The ONLY issue that Samsung still has that the API isn't completely open. That is why there isn't a 4k App that does 4k on A Samsung device. They are restricted to QuadHD. You can only shoot 4k on Samsung's own Stock Camera App.

Probably some people didn't even know their Samsung was running Windows Mobile with TouchWiz on top.
