HMD may have quietly discontinued the Nokia 8 Sirocco

Prices at local retailers have fallen and Nokia.com's "Buy" buttons seem to be broken.

Huwaei has outdone every phone brand in terms of camera. Nokia has a lot to catch up on.

        Same in France and Nokia 7+ is at the same freaking price that the 7.1

So generalize and affirm what is convenient or should be for vast majority of people is false and pure demagogy, probably propitiated by self-interest more than anything else.

          Perhaps even you are or will be one of those who make decisions to cut features and specifications to save costs and offer as little as possible at the highest price. But i and a lot of people will always look for the best possible alternative for us, avoiding those deficient products, they can remain them on the shelves and at warehouses, picking up dust.

            Well best Nokia until now and now its gone forewer. (sad, depressed, tears)

              This device was doomed at birth. It was not on pair against competition. It's as easy as that. It was like a 2017 flagship been thrown to the market at 2018.

              I'm a Nokia fan, but when it was launched, the 7+ was more interesting even though it is a mid-range.

              But in my mind…, you know, if I can get the same (of course, a little bit slower) from the 7+ that I get with the 8 Scirocco, why would I choose the expensier?

              I terms of 'flagshipness', it was lagging behind… poorly and lonely.


              If they launch something like a Nokia 9, or a 8 plus, they need to do a way better job that they have been doing. I'll write it down for Nokia in case they read this post:


              6 - 8 Gigs of Ram
              Top of the line SOC (the fastest available at launch time)
              128 Gb Storage
              > 40Mp / > 20Mp BW / > 20Mp ultrawide (120)/ 20Mp 3x
              > 6.0", faultless screen even in the sunniest conditions

              They can add everything else, but those things are at the bottom (I know in the camera department I went a little bit high). The competition in the flagship department now is about big numbers. If a device doesn't deliver good numbers, then is better for the manufacturer to lay down in the mid and budget 'zone'

Because most users don't buy $150+ Audio-Technicas or Onkyos or pay $240 (yearly) for Tidal Premium to get the best quality audio. Bluetooth is PERFECTLY USABLE AND MORE CONVENIENT for the vast majority of folks...

                    Honestly it won´t be missed..... They can and SHOULD do a lot better than this....You would have to be crazy to pay 500€ or more for this

                      "Good riddance" for a phone with no 3.5mm jack and microsd slot as STANDARD.

                        Such a gorgeous phone. Saw one at the store a while back and it was surprisingly small in form factor, and looked and felt amazing.

                          I would be more concerned if HMD had not released any phones for months but they are on a roll

                            And perhaps that's the problem. Clearing the scenery to substitute original 8 series by mid range phones with the price of a flagship ones........ and fool people again.

                              Even the 7 plus is not available since few weeks... even thats discontinued.. surely pointing toward launch of high midranger .. i expect it to have ois and telephoto

                                        Nokia 8 Sirocco was released on April 2018... If a phone gets discontinued just 6 months after release, then that is surely concerning to the buyers of that phone/brand.
