Nice and all, but even moderate estimates put widescale 5g coverage at ~2024.

Whats the benefit of 5G phone? better antenna, it means if the better antenna works on 4G frequency band, it will improve your 4G speed in case carrier use LTE advanced.

Anyway 5G full standard and initial release will be in 2020 and mostly focus on high dense big city, and rich country. There's no need to buy 5G phone if you are using flagship phone (antenna modem is good enough) or no 5G infrastructure.

Looking forward to 5G it can't come soon enough. But i think 5G should roll out where you cannot already get 4G to fill in the gaps. Then as 5G takes off it will have an amzing coverage with 4G where it doesnt cover. This wont happen it will be big cities as usual and the rest can go suck on a 2g signal.

I have not yet experienced 4G network in our region but 5G is coming soon in 2019.
They need first to make 4G network widespread and stable before they switch to something else.

I don't believe that buy a 5G phone will be a hurry up situation, give 5G networks time to grow and have a good coverage, mature the hardware/software and then after the overpriced first phones with 5G, it'll arrive more variety at better prices after the novelty.

Interesting see that HMD is the one there, the one that moves the threads designing mobiles without sense, Nokia is not more than a name used like alibi. Lienovo send Motorola hidding the face. All BBKs are there. But the three big ones in the market are absent.

That's just strange, it technically shouldn't be that way. Most likely either bug in firmware or something strange going on with your carriers 4G service.

The Redmi Note 4 had quite buggy firmware with regards to cell standby and deep sleep on the MTK version.

Because 2G is still widely used and more reliable in bad weather.

Someone has to be the first, but.....which countries and carriers have fully operational 5G towers? It's expected the next iPhone probably won't have it. But my guess how Apple thinks is it won't be available for a few more years. My thinking is you're paying for something that you can't use any time soon.
