Marco M, 23 Oct 2018Based on what? A lot of new things both work better and are... moreWell that's false. I live next to a 2G/3G/4G base station of my carrier and my phone uses twice as much power when using 4G, compared to 3G usage, despite the perfect signal.

mark, 23 Oct 20185g=worse batteryBased on what? A lot of new things both work better and are at the same time more energy efficient then what they replace.

Take 2G it could consume as much as 2 watts.
Both 3G and 4G consumes a maximum of 0.5 watts.

From then on it's the network frequency and general coverage the decides which will consume more battery. If using 4G at 900 or 1800 mhz it will normally consume less energy than 3G at 2100 mhz given somewhat equal coverage. If the 4G coverage is poor and the 3G coverage is excellent at one location, then it's a different story, but at the same time not due to the technology itself.

Its just a selling ploy, 5g might be available from next year in select areas, but overall coverage wont be available for a few years, unless u live in a 5g area at the start, it isnt worth buying a phone for its 5g capabilities in 2019, my town took 7 years after the 4g rollout to get 4g even though smaller towns got it earlier

Marco M, 23 Oct 2018Not long until everyone will be among the first with a 5G s... moreIn 2022, iPhone will begin supporting 5G and will also remove the Lightning port too (only wireless charging and transfer), and they will release it as "the best iPhone ever"!

OnePlus cannot understand how to increase droped sales ans literally lies again. Every company will release 5g phone that time.

we got 4g this year in our country..5g is still 5 years ahead..so don't even care :(
haters gonna say they already have 5g -___-

It's not just OnePlus. "5G" will be sales pitch for practically every phone manufacturer next year. All the big players will launch 5G phones next year.

Personally i don't see it as big of a deal as they're making it out to be. Yeah sure, it will be faster & have lower latency, but it will take a while before 5G network coverage spreads around.

Also the average user experience won't change as drastically as it did from upgrading from 3G to 4G.
