The major problem with Nokia is that it has no friend and No alliance.
Let's face a reality, Nokia isn't Apple. Look at the failure of symbian. Meego is non better than that since Intel and Linux ditch Nokia.
Like this, Nokia will keep losing its share in the market further more.

personally, I have refrained from all the brouhaha surrounding the Lumia range since it's camera has not a patch on the n8. A good camera is essential for me and it seems that nokia were not able to concentrate on developing the 800 camera in the specific time frame they had but I guess this shall not remain the case with updates imminent,
All I hope is that wp Mango allows Nokia the freedom to place whatever sensor and record video at whatever resolution it prefers. Symbian belle is great but Nokia need to succeed in the western markets with this N8 replacement and wp mango device with 12 megapixels (at least) will definitely get the ball rolling :P

Hopefully it will run Windows Phone. By then the Apollo update should have been released which means dual core, higher screen resolutions, LTE, NFC, etc.

Why Nokia think N8 is the camera king phone?
They don't have the right to say that it didn't win any contest and even GSMarena should know better. Samsung Wave S8500 has better Camera and the proof is in GSMarena Youtube page

Chewy, 15 Nov 2011Yeah for impromptu photos on nights out, or random arms len... moreAnd if you don't know if you are going to drive a race or driving in a lake ?
No one doubt a camera, even a poin-and-shot, is better than a smartphone at taking photos. But maybe in some times we will have point & shot quality in a smartphone. Ordinary people (including me) want this, they don't want to carry a camera. Photos lovers (and moreover professionnals) will always have a reflex.
I like taking photos, but it's not a real hobby : I prefer not to carry a camera "just in case of" than taking better photos (especially if smartphones become better and better at this).

Would really like a follow up to the N8 in a Windows Phone flavor. Most phones still come with 8 MP modules. Camera-wise, The N8 is still the best out there.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2011i bet you can make phone calls on your cannon camera. lol. ... moreYeah for impromptu photos on nights out, or random arms length shots for facebook.
Any professional photographer knows you won't get a professional quality picture from a camera phone (yet). Yes the appeal of a gadget that does everything is paramount in this face paced, technology driven world.. but you still won't get the result you require unless you use a pure-use gadget, such as a D-SLR camera.
Think of it this way. You are entering a car race, do you take the Ferrari that has had years of development to excell at that specific task.. Or take the anphibious car, just because it can travel on water?
No brainer really.

The Meego OS has been completely dropped by Nokia so why would they even use that in their next phone.

As of my opinion, Nokia should expand its own OS Brand "Meego"
with the massive camera, they will get their crowd. Personally me, I will be waiting for it. can you put some pics or specs for it.
