If Nokia is going to come out with old phones. they should do the iconic phones like 8800 , N95/97, Xpress 5800 etc.. those are phones i would love to re-own. This banana phone does not appeal to anyone. I think my baby would play with an iphone 4 than this phone.

You could even build such combo with cheaper brands for the price of that entry level phone. As it can be sold even separately, then easily upgraded, of course its better to sell those new, even despite people not being used to them. So its not like there is no one who would buy, but the number goes down, not up. Its a bit shame.

But the question for any combo is if the segment is large enough to sustain a device.
It is a bit like highly speced phone (not phablet) sized smartphones. There sure is a market interested in them, but there is currently (almost) none that come even close to that.
Or phones with real slider keyboards. I would love that, the technology is there, but for years there have only been a single one - even sliding in the wrong direction. I quess the big companies find the market too small. A new "Q-device" should be very close to being announced though... (I guess days or weeks)
The 8110 4G was a fun gimmick, as a slightly smart feature phone. (And that concept in it self is a good idea, with good value for small money)
I bought one as a spare as the battery is removable, so a strategic piece of plastic, and you have a device that can last for many months as a spare or emergency device in e.g. your car.
But I doubt they will try to make a successor. And the idea of giving it higher specs, e.g. better camera, would obviously also raise the price. Of course it can technically be done, but I'm just saying that I doubt that it will be done - especially as they have done so very little to improve the existing by firmware, or their store. So there is NOTHING that indicates that neither this nor their take on KaiOS as such is in the focus of HMD.

You state that Whatsapp is available. Is this actual fact. Not available on UK version. I don't believe it is available yet.

Thickness would be also less of problem so something similar to 808 camera would be possible, xenon and hw shutter included. Not everyone need fragile blades, point is to give important hw for that community, hi res screen, hi end processor,...unnecessary specs for those people, so price would stay down within reasonable limit.
Even I choose a phone based on how good is camera, and thats not the only thing smartphone can do, its just new trend in communication, so like next necessity after chat apps. Price / 24month is small anyway :)

They're just starting to find their feet. And feature phones is still a big matket as in some countries not all can buy smartphones and few ppl will like to keep it as backup phone or even use it when they're on vacation. And Nokia will probably top this market by next year. So its important for them.

Nokia instead of launching devices that compete in the high ranges against the big brands that begin to dominate the Android market such as Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc. is dedicated to marketing this type of phones that do not contribute anything to the market, that is, a new bet from Nokia to lose time and money.

While Huawei, Xiaomi non-stopping grow up, Nokia comes plummet to the deepest.

I would consider this as a work phone and combine this with tablet or similar small device like Chromebook and use this as a hotspot.

@KaiOStech at Twitter said many times that they're not going to support WhatsApp. Sarvikas simply lie or hope but WhatsApp still available for jio phones only. It turns out that the KaiOS apps api is not support WhatsApp and jio make some tricks with Facebook to compile special OS version with custom WhatsApp client how not js app.

I can just see in the Nokia Forum that not all get offered the same.
And it is not just 'prohibitive' countries/regions that do not get it all. Others see (slightly) more than I see from Denmark. (Not anything I will miss, but I just wonder on the differences)

For the category of people that the phone is targeted, OS does not matter. Most listen to songs and some meme videos. So memory and connectivity matters.
